can anyone tell me the info of ,in my opinion,the greatest player to pull on the famous black and white,and one of the greatest players ever,the date of his debut, who it was against and the score? it was was one of the first games my dad took me to,but i have not a lot of memory of it(only being a nipper!!) think it was around 77-78 cheers!

Thought it was away against Bradford and we just lost.In a relegation fight at the time.Knocker was majestic,hair stands up on the back of my neck just talking about him.

The game he made his debut on was on 29th January 1978 against Saints. It poured with rain and we lost 18-12.



His record was 283 appearances 47 tries 11 goals (all drops) and 157 points!He He packed up after a club (then) record benifit season, and played his last gamein April 1987!!

Knocker



had a brain and and was a bit of a lad who could look after himself.Len thought everyone was scared of him but he certainly backed away from Knocker at caravan park in the match when Casey was sent off.Plenty of finger wagging from a safe distance by Len but never getting too close.

Didn't think Knocker played in that game tbh. I have it on video from the old "Scrumdown" days so I'll have to dig it out. I remember Casey getting sent off after being involved in a skirmish with Neil Puckering, and Fred Ah Kuoi flying in with some assistance, then Len shoving a touch judge to one side as he walked off, but I don't recall Knocker playing. Gary divorty certainly played and Ronnie Campbell was the Ref. Hull lined up to applaud Rovers onto the pitch as they'd just been crowned champions...then stuffed them.

Out of all the players that have ever played for Hull that I haven't seen (only 21). I think Knocker is the one I wish I'd of seen, only seen clips of him on Hull.tv. From seeing the odd clips and everyone talking about him I really feel as though I've missed out in seeing one of the greatest players who was ahead of his time.
