It's be awesome if Sky could get Andrew Voss over but I would doubt they even know who he is.

I, for one, won't miss him. He's the main reason I don't have a Sky subscription. For me, he was always dull and humourless. The only time his personality came out, it was to make snide and bias comments, normally favouring Wires and always anti-Wigan whoever the opposition were.



I suppose the Good Friday game will be his last opportunity to get some shots in, I'm sure he'll make the most of it.

He initially anounced he was retiring with Stevo and that was the season before Stevo actually went so he’s hung on a lot longer than I expected. I agree we could end up with a lot worse but he is definitely anti Wigan, I’ve even heard him at it myself.

I for one won't miss him creaming his knickers over every St Helens try or the fact he tries only to call us champions once or twice in a game yet when Leeds & Saints where champions he mentioned it virtually every time he opened his mouth

Seems a little odd that he is retiring mid season.

Hopefully everything is ok with the guy.

As a commentator he can be really good during a game and then come out with some odd dross which for me can be a bit off putting. Overall though I think he always sounds quite passionate about the game and on balance I think that offsets any "preferences" he could have at times particularly when Saints were in their pomp.

He hasn't been the same without Stevo but good luck to the lad and hope he is ok.

Agree with this. At the end of the day he's a 'Rugby League' man (as Stevo was) and I wish him well.

Good luck to him in his retirement but it will be nice if he leaves the DW on Good Friday crushingly disappointed

Was always a fan of Joe Lydons commentary years ago on BBC , never was a fan of Eddie and Stevo , the old GMR commentators where much better . just please not Phil Clarke or Paul Cullen

The whole lot are pretty dire. They all have verbal diarrhoea. They just cannot shut up and think every second has to be covered, as if it is a radio commentary. I do not want to be told what I can see. I'm pleased to see him go but do not think things will improve any time soon if the format remains the same. There are too many people involved all vying to get their voice heard above the others.

Sky coverage in general is lamentable compared to the serious and intelligent way the sport is presented in NRL coverage, and, indeed, rugby union here in the UK on the BBC, ITV, and C5. Eddie is just the obvious totem for this.
