Got some friends coming over from Hunslet for their first trip to the LSV. They are possibly going to do a few pubs around town and are "Real Ale" drinkers.

I haven't been around town for ages...what are the best real ale pubs in Leigh? pref nearer to the ground if possible.

In the Town centre I can only think of three.





Weatherspoons Boars Head and the Goose.

Thanks Frank, I have suggested the "Centurion" to them as well although I haven't been in, I've heard some decent reports.

I want to make sure they don't leave Leigh disappointed.

Dont think they do real ale in the Centurion matey it is ok in there though, plus free lobby on.

as Frank says Goose is good for real ale hope they enjoy themselves.

Leigh rugby union club has won the CAMRA award again this year quality real ale in there

They usually have Bombardier on, at least, in the Litten Tree as well. Plus you have the benefit of not having to put up with FrankB like you do in the Goose!

I did not know about Bombadier in the Litten Tree might drop by and beat him up next home game.



And if I bump into him at the Dewsbury game I shall refuse to talk to him.lol.

Waterside is quite good - they have my fav Old Speckled Hen. They used to not like football/rugby shirts tho
