Leigh today managed to play with 14 men today in their game with Whitehaven.



The 14th man John Duffy then tackled a Haven player in which the ball was dislodged (deemed a knock on).



Duffy was then red carded (but Leigh just reversed the original substitution which involved Duffy) and so co.



Leigh then went on from the subsequent scrum to score the match winning try.



Is there any precedent for this type of thing with regard to result reversal/points being docked ect...



Lastly a word for the superb behaviour of Leigh's travelling support today. Not only did they manage to use every expletive ever created when stood by the family fun area (literally 5 meters away) one of them topped it all off by screaming and swearing in the face of a wheel chair bound elderly disabled gentleman on his way out the ground. You would be an asset to SL.

In the NRL they would automatically lose the points for the game. Let's hope the same applies here.

Funny, my young daughter just got back from the game and said it was handbag at 3 paces with the whitehaven fans getting upset by a handful of leigh fans chanting going down going down....what a differance a season makes

from what i picked up they had 14 men on the pitch in the build up to the knock on that gave them a scrum, from that scrum they scored but mconnell had then gone off. after the conversion duffy was red carded cause he came on without giving his sub card to the 4th officall(threw it on the floor instead) so after the try he was sent off and mconnell came back on



dont know what the rules are but 14 men on the pitch is a big no no so the least we could hope for is an appeal and a rematch





and by the way we wil stay up on merit unlike leigh

For what it's worth. When Ospreys had their extra man in a euro cup game in union, the club were fined 20,000 pound and the player was banned for 2 games. That's without any action during the game i.e Duffys red card and was said to 'not have an effect on the outcome', unlike this where Duffy made the tackle.



Basically i'm giving a pointless example but thought it may have been good to note.

This is all a bunch of cr5p. Duffy was sent off for not handing his sub card to the fourth official and running on before mcconnell had left the field, I think whilst waiting for haven to kick off. Duffs left the field and Duffs was sent off for an offence committed before joining the field as I understand it. Therefore he could no longer be used as a replacement. I have now been told this by several people who were around the incident.



So while you one eyed cumbrians are whinging on here as well I wish you well in your quest for relegation and also your quest to challenge Queens for having the most agressive obnoxious fans in the whole of RL

Just a question, i obviously didnt see the incident but how can a player be sent of for running on to the field of play before joining the field of play?

IIRC didn't Saints have 14 on against Hull for a minute or two and get a fine for it?

Why bring Toulouse into this.
