| Quote SmokeyTA="SmokeyTA"Just a question, i obviously didnt see the incident but how can a player be sent of for running on to the field of play before joining the field of play?'"
Like you I haven't seen this incident but would imagine that Duffy would have been sent off because he had entered the field of play and participated in the game (by making the tackle) without being cleared to do so by the officials. If this was the case then although standing on the field of play he would not have officially been considered as being one of the 26 players participating (so not technically considered to be on the field of play).
The rules were originally changed (in the 1920s I think) so that players that were out of the field of play had to seek and be given permission by the officials to re-enter the field of play and participate. This was done because during a Challenge Cup tie a player being treated for injury on the sidelines ran back onto the pitch when the opposing team had a player break through, the 'injured' player then effected a try saving tackle (which resulted in his team winning the game). As this situation warranted the change in the rules I would assume that what Duffy did broke that particular rule and would result in a sending off.

| Quote RecreRebel="RecreRebel"Leigh today managed to play with 14 men today in their game with Whitehaven.
The 14th man John Duffy then tackled a Haven player in which the ball was dislodged (deemed a knock on).
Duffy was then red carded (but Leigh just reversed the original substitution which involved Duffy) and so co.
Leigh then went on from the subsequent scrum to score the match winning try.
Is there any precedent for this type of thing with regard to result reversal/points being docked ect...
Lastly a word for the superb behaviour of Leigh's travelling support today. Not only did they manage to use every expletive ever created when stood by the family fun area (literally 5 meters away) one of them topped it all off by screaming and swearing in the face of a wheel chair bound elderly disabled gentleman on his way out the ground. You would be an asset to SL.'"
I can't comment on the incident re Duffy but your last paragraph is laughable, the delight your fans showed last year after we hammered you, yet still got relegated was amazing. If the Leigh fans are as bad as you made out there would of been lots of trouble last season but not one incident,if you can't take it don't give it.I predict the wheel chair incident will be like the baseball bat incident at Hilton park a few yerars ago, totally fabricated by Haven fans.

Elderley man in wheelchair, not the one i saw who was driving his wheelchair into some Leigh fans and gobbing off, oh and then there was the gentleman with his walking stick, waving it in the face of an elederly leigh fan...by the way the walking stick was far more real than the baseball bat of a few years ago. Blind, one eyed, whatever, certainly won't be a sad loss to the championship should you go down.
Sorry there was an elderley gentleman in a wheel chair who was gobbing off about how we should have been relegated last season. A Leigh fan was trying to explain the findings of the RFL about Gateshead to him. So he quite fairly stated " So Gateshead saved you" but then spoiled it all as he was pushed away by telling the Leigh fan who was not aggresive in any way to "go away". Nice people. Whitehaven...never again for me.

| We're breeding a similar culture to British football's 1980's football hooligan outbreak in the Championships these days. I got into a 'tasty' bit of 'verbals' with a ridiculusly irate Widnes fan after the game who 'started' on me for crossing the road to my vehicle against a car-park steward's orders. I don't know if he was tooled up or not, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was carrying a 'blade' and had an intention to 'stripe' me.

| That must have been the idiot I told to leave it out after his outburst, what an idiot, he was ranting and raving and swearing, waving his stick, saying the Lady from leigh had "Gone yeah" in his face, she wasnt a young girl to say the least and didnt do anything wrong at all.

Incidents involving a wheelchair, to be fair are not fabricated, just twisted a little. Take shin pads if you ever chose to go to haven, the very large and agressive middle aged 'gentleman' is quite adept at driving his motorised chair into people, despite other haven fans trying to stop him. Threats to brick the coaches were also heard.
However to the two Leigh fans bundled out by stewards at the end, why didn't you just turn and go.
...hmmmm Haven stewards overheard by a fan telling other Haven fans to go and kick off with the Leigh fans...surely can't be true....can it

| Got to say, the stewards today did not help at all to settle the situation. A couple of the stewards were offering leigh fans out for a fight, looks very professional for Whitehaven, that does.

| Its like I said, this hooligan element is only going to grow. From such small acorns as crazy, motorised wheelchair-bound pensioners, grow the problems of widespread outbreaks of sporadic violence in motorway service station car-parks, and mass town-centre brawls.
