'Much cop' or not is subjective. Personally speaking the first 40 minutes were as good as I've seen from any team for many a year. Over the moon with the way we've started this season but recognising there's a long way to go.

I don't care about Wigan. If a weaker (on paper) Catalans could score 40 points against the same team last year and the only difference is a new coach, then surely that says a lot about the Catalans coaching set-up?

Yeah, except this discussion was not about Wigan at all other than that they have a coach that is getting the best out of the players and that this is clearly what Catalans are lacking, especially considering that they put 40 points past the same team last year so there are no issues with ability.

But the same coach was in charge then? So what was he doing then that he isnt now?

So it did have something to do with Wigan.



Catalans are awful. Now whether that's down to the players, Walters or a combination of the two I don't know, but they need to get it sorted soon.

No, I think Greg Bird papered over a lot of cracks at the end of last year, and 8th was still a poor finish after the regular season, it wasn't a progressive year for the club at all and at no point did the team look like the coherent unit that it did under Potter, the style of play was more akin to 2006. The squad is more balanced this year, yet performances have been terrible.

Fair point. The Wigan tactics were spot on.

I think you make a lot of fair points there HH, allthough im not sure the squad looks more balanced, i feel we have too many back rowers, we've had them playing centre when we already had back rowers covering centre, we've had them playing hooker and we have had them playing prop.
