Following Sunday's performance it appears some of our squad aren't playing for the current Head Coach, yes Toronto are full time and have signed players from top championship/ lower end super league, but the lack of desire and will to go the extra mile appears to be missing which suggest not all is well within the dressing room, this is ultimately only resolved by a change of coach.



GT so sat has done a reasonable job, he has stated he's been supported by the board at the fans forum meetings so unless he was protecting his employer then he is the one who must take the blame.



Also at the fans forum we have been told that we struggled to sign players in certain positions because they wouldn't drop down to league one, why have Toronto not used the same excuse? If we are to be owned by an organisation backed by wealthy men shouldn't we expect more.

Gary Thornton is a good talker.

I would not want anyone to get the sack ...

but for whatever reason we parted company with a great bloke/player in Paul Cooke.

So if we can do that ...



Has Gary Thornton really brought much to the club?

However, I am dead against sacking a coach mid-season.

Christ knows we could get promotion.

Give him the season.



If we don't get promoted, I don't see how he fits into the 5 year plan.

I cannot understand GT's use of his captain in recent matches. One of KK's strengths is his enthusiasm and tackling yet was left on the bench for about 50 mins. This is not the first time either. His team selection has been baffling .

He & another player seem to have a problem allegedly he(the player) went missing after the Keighley game & had an animated discussion after the Hunslet game with GT . I know these things happen but we supposed to be a united team . LW must be tearing his hair out at the effort put in by several players .

We will see what happens at York but even so I think there is an underlying problem .

Just read his reaction on sunday's game on the dons website and once again says all the things he needs to do to keep everyone sweet without anything being done about it, the guy couldn't motivate me to spend 10p in a brothel! Cooke wasn't a yes man so he had no chance here

Has he lost some of the dressing room ?



Is it he who decides on the recruitment, I doubt it so maybe the problem is higher up ?



How can any club with a 'Five Year Plan' sign a 37 year-old knowing that the same player will be 42 five years down the line ?

Having to resort to such desperation is really taking the biscuit and the use of Aizue & Thacks is an insult to the promotion of the sport and a kick in the niagaras for any wanabee prop looking to get a start in the game at a decent level.

The dons handing out golden handshake contracts to over the hill journeymen we should of brought in 3-4 years ago? nah that doesn't sound like us

Part of the problem with the sport at the moment is that Super League teams have Under 19's but not a proper reserve grade. The young props can't cut it against the older more experienced forwards. The younger props are the first to depart the game and we're left with old men dropping down the leagues to fill the void.



I'd like to see us recruiting youngsters for the future but they have to be good enough to be able to compete now, not in three years time when they've had more time to mature.



Zac Braham is probably an example of us recruiting for the future. He's good (and in my opinion ahead of Makali Aizue) but he needs more time to develop. He's not ready for week-in, week-out first team rugby yet.

Toulouse have 5 props essentially and they are awesome thanks to top coaching and all that goes with it.

This isn't rocket science, investment in the future (even short term) ? YES !

I congratulate Toulouse on their achievements.



Another example of how hard it is though is that when we played the Leeds youngsters in the pre-season game, we were all over them in the forwards. We looked a class above them. Their good youngsters couldn't cope with our men.



Put our men against other men at League One level and they don't stand out in the same way. It really is tough finding young props that are good enough. Well done to Toulouse if you've been able to find some.

Kieran Cunningham is free.

a high profile player who may be better coaching in the lower division for now.

Doesn't need a big contract, All we have to tell him is, Any salary is better than being unemployed.

Probably done more playing in one game than Thornton did in his whole career. But i can't see a SL club coming in for him although a

few Championship sides might be looking, ie Dewsbury.

I'd rather have TM back than GT at least the players ran through brick walls for him and were

10 times better to watch, The dons under thornton are probably the worst team to watch iv'e ever seen,

that only comes from one person!

Kieran Cunningham , I do not think so .

I like what greenwood is doing at Gloucester , but may be interesting Dewsbury.

Think Thacks is still one of the best props in this division, whether

GT can coach him we'll see.
