But you didn't mention clean breaks, try's, try assists in your first post. He's made plenty of tackle busts though.



I suppose it comes down to what you believe a 13 should be vs what the 13 is being asked to do in the team. As our halves are for the most part split, with Sneyd on the left, Abdull/Pryce on the right, Westy acts a lot as first receiver in the oppositions half in order to get the ball shipped out to the halfbacks (who are expected to create/score trys). Being a 'ballhandler' doesn't always mean creating try's but also having the ability to slot into the line and ship the ball accurate and quickly to where it's needed.

I Didn't mention stats either. Anyways he can pass a ball out to our half backs, brilliant. 4/5 seasons of Westerman and still don't see the big deal. And if I was picking the team on form and not age or potential, and it was between Westerman and Abdul for the 13, Id go with Abdul. Especially next season with such a strong pack, I think it could easily accommodate a loose forward with abduls abilities, would give us more in attack

What because I don't agree with you either, don't see the problem myself, you rate Westerman, I don't.

More that you have your opinion, but you're so stubborn in that opinion that you're unable to absorb anyone else's points, or take into account other factors. I haven't so far seen anyone agree with you, and most have stated credible reasons why what you want to happen with Hull FC's 13, isn't the best option. You've not given anything credible in return to back up your opinion.

Really? I think you'll find plenty of people on here that think Westermans over rated and as not fulfilled his potential that people have been banging on about for what seems like years. And everybody on here as been raving about Abdul's performances this year, some people think hes not ready for the 13 week in week, that's not a fact just an opinion, I think he could be, Ive not seen anything that suggest he wouldn't be, if we are talking about not been consistent week in week out, we've plenty of seasoned pros who struggle with that, Westerman been one. Abdul as proved he can be first receiver, but he also can beat a man, and give a decent off load, I've not seen to much wrong with his defence, hes a big lad, with an other pre season under his belt, I personally think he could fill the role.

So because Abdull is a 'big lad' and playing well at 6, he should be chucked in at 13? Being a big lad doesn't mean he can handle 30+ tackles a game at 13 yet or handle 80 minutes in the middle of the field.



He's playing very well at 6, why would you want to move him so soon?



I really don't get the negativity with Westy. Is it because he's not a Hull lad, or that we paid a fee for him? He was arguably our best player last season and barring a couple of error-ridden calamities this year, he's been excellent. As for not fulfilling his potential, he played for England last Autumn!?



Basically, there's room for both players in our side.

Not because he's big lad, no. Just saying I think he's physically robust to play 13. I wouldn't move him from 6 right now because pryce is injured. But next season, presuming pryce is fit, I cant see a place for both in the starting 13, I'd like to season Abdul at 13 in our monstrous experienced pack. Westerman been bang average since he came to hull, with a few glimpse of quality, he had half a good season last year in a very poor team. I don't care where hes from or that we paid a fee for him. I just havnt seen what you obviously have. And if we have to lose someone, a higher earner, I wouldn't be bothered if it was him

Westerman does a lot of the dirty work in the middle. We would miss him IMO.

I happen to think JA could replace JW now.



But it's unlikely to happen next season.



What it will mean though is JW will have to deliver the goods knowing that there is a real threat to his place, it might bring the best out of him next year - if not, isn't it great to have options

Can't think of many people that think Abdull can do 80 minutes a week in the middle. Nobody praises the youth and wants them to be brought through more than me, but IMO Abdull isn't capable of 13 in SL yet. Also, why would anyone want to move him from 6?
