After reading other posts above the general look of the current under 20's we have is one of great potential. its also great so see that us fans are taking note of the future talent at FC.



Since Briscos left we have had Motu Tony (poor fb) Jordan tansey (what can i say!) and yes whiting is an awesome player but putting him at FB is a waste of his god given talent. He has a natural rugby league mind and he can play in almost any position so why chain him down to FB?



If we keep Whiting at FB we have very few options to replace other key players with a player of his quality and this would be a mistake imo. When richard horne is fully fit i would put him at FB as he has not really recovered from when he had all his problems. I am not saying he is not the player he was, by any means, but i would personally put Horny at FB this season to get him back upto speed.

Hopefully we will soon see the benefits of the under 20's and as you say matey a few scrum halfs wouldnt go a miss

i played with reece lazenby at hull wyke and then for a short while at west hull before he was rightly taken on by hull and you're spot on he's a very exciting and talented prospect. he would fully deserve a chance sooner or later in my eyes too and i don't say that just because he's a friend, I say it because he has earnt it!!

Great to see so many players in wigan's side tonight who have come through their ranks. It's an area we have gone backwards at an alarming rate at since mcrae left

Well all the players who came through have gone to other clubs, most of this board agreed with their release.



Horne, Lee, Dixon, Hall, Hodgson, Wheeldon, Welham have been released at some level.

The question is why aren't we producing enough good quality SL players with the odd superstar thrown in

the board would rather bring in an old timer who has a reputation for being good when they were at their peak ten years ago...its a shame but why are we signing people like obst and long?



give the young uns a chance we sure as hell cant get any worse at the moment. why not let the two reece's etc av a crack at sl and proving themselves.



if we keep offloading our youngsters at this rate we will be getting worse for years to come i am sorry to say

I agree with some that you have wrote, but I can't think of a player that we have released in the last few years that I regret.

Agreed, but why are other clubs producing more quality players through their academy's than us?

Wigan and Saints are.



Leeds have been they Youth system seems to be struggling at the moment.



About equal with the rest of the clubs.



Wigan went through a few years when they didn't produce too many, they are now seeing the rewards.



At the moment we have the best youth system we have ever had, hopefully we will see the rewards in the next couple of years.
