Referees are untouchable, and they shouldn't be. There is a line obviously, but when a referee has made a bad decision, and then thinks that he is above listening to players opinions then he shouldn't be allowed to walk away without being questioned. It was very Ganson-esque, "I know best and I'm not going to listen to what anyone else has to say."

If refs listened every time a player had an opinion about a call he/she had made the game would last several hours.

"Class" was Huddersfield absolutely destroying Hull KR a few weeks back....... Oh, hang on that was Ben Thalers fault wasn't it? Just like every other time you lose!!

I think this is what Senior excels at. He has lots of skills but the one he is definitely best at is obstruction. He has the most rounded set of obstructions that I think I've ever seen in a player. He can obstruct from the kick off, get in the way of players chasing a kick, run into a player in the line, take would-be tacklers out - his ability covers the whole gamut. Hats of to Keith Senior for taking obstruction to a new level. I often wonder if had he been a tall man with a big shiny bald head instead of the tiny, dark-haired insignificant bloke that he is, whether he would have been spotted by match officials whilst he developed this skill-set over the years. Ah well, I'm afraid we will never know what might have been.

The thing is Senior is a class player and doesn't need to do any of that.

But he gets away with it and it benefits the team. The blame lies with the officials for not picking up on it for so long when it's something he's been notorious for for a number of years.

I agree with the point you make but this is about Calderwood , his attitude over some of our other players and not about referees. In an ideal world of course we don't want to plumb the depths of football referee baiting etc but currently we are just lying down as a club and not fighting back on any front eg RHumberside. Everyone else seems to be prepared to stand up and be counted. Rightly or wrongly it does demonstrate passion and it is being proved to work , will Thaler referee KR again?

I want to see in my team enough passion that in frustrating times like these they do push at the rules and boundaries. It's one thing being cool under pressure quite an other to appear not to give a t0ss.

Calderwood vented his frustration with a bad word but he did not abuse the referee. Nor did he assault the referee. Let's not get this out of proportion.

real radio have had mr silverwood on tonite and i txt in asking wether he thought that keef had obstructed mark and he said that he believed he had been obstructed.

thats him reffing NL2 for the next month then.
