Good post......Glasto is, and always will be a festival for people that 'THINK THEY KNOW MUSIC'......Far too diverse to be taken seriously. A bit like those girls that will dress up in England t-shirts for this years world cup, pop to the pub for the England games and just sit and gab about make-up and clothes and Posh Spice to the other females there...until their blokes start getting excited about whats going on on the telly. Then and only then will they get excited too...they dont know why, they just will ! Basicaly.....Its just a daft fashion thing. Glasto is a fashion thing...with mud.....lots and lots of mud. The bands there aint that good either
OK...just my opinion of course, But I am a festival veteran and Donington is by far a better set up. At least the campsite isnt in a marsh!  |

Some good bands at Glasto sometimes, but for the price hassle and putting up with hippies its not worth it. Leeds used to be good but it also is succumbing to media hyped bands. I cant see Marilyn Manson coming back. Still some fun to be had in the concrete jungle stage (or whatever they call it on the Sunday) Dillinger Escape Plan and Sick Of it All some highlights from recent years.
I think the best festival ever was the very first Ozzfest (no Download) at Milton Keynes Bowl. Slayer, Pantera, Sepultura, Soulfly, Fear Factory, Disturbed, Therapy?, ozzy and Black Sabbath. Yes please!
