95 yards?! So he was near our try-line was he?!  I've heard of exaggerations but come on!
Has to be Graham Mackay's against New Zealand in the last game at the Boulevard. 51 metre drop goal in the last second of the first half to put us in the lead at half-time. Excellent! |

It was about half way, and the Shay is a short pitch. About 50 yards at most and still a cracker, but "95 yards" ?? get real mate !

Cant be anyone but Broughs at cardiff so important.
Cookes against sainta to give us our first win was great too.
I would love to see the stats in the last 10 years on how many drops we have got compared to ones against us, i would guess it is at least 5/1 ratio against us.

I remember Offiah dropping a goal against us at Central Park in 1993. We recorded a rare win there that day, 14-13.
A couple which stick out, Gary Pearce dropping 3 goals at the old craven park in a derby win, 2 days after we have lost the semi final replay to halifax in 1988. Also, a year later Pearce launched a long range effort at Headingley in a 13-6 win.
Mick Cranes skewed 30 yarder in the 1983 Yorks Cup final managed to defy the laws of gravity.
I used to think the worst attempt at a drop goal was Steve Evans during the 1982 cup final. But then I saw Chris Thorman!!!! |
