I'll always remember Brian as being one of the few coaches who had an appreciation of the Laws of the Game and the pressures of being an official. If he had criticism, it was a foolish bloke who ignored it.



RIP Brian

First met Brian at Newland some 30 years ago, he seemed to have a natural ability to get the best out of somebody.Then had the pleasure of meeting up with him again at Stelrad and he had not changed. One of the few people who put so much into peoples lives, only spoke to him 6 months back a true gent. God bless you.

Got to know him through secretary's role when he was a Commitee member, couldn't do enough to help you. Genuine bloke who was a real gent, commiserations to Kev and rest of family.

Regards to all his Family - only knew him through the Stelrad link to say hello - and he did say Hello- never seemed to forget who you were - I think the last time I saw him was at Wakefield this season RIP

I was a colleague of Brian when he retired and chatted many times about FC and rugby in general during our time at Cooper. He was a great bloke and he will of course be sadly missed by all. Deepest sympathy to all the family.

Now you have me worried that you used to be one of my teachers.

I may have been but I dont know who you are and I am not letting on who I am. I have since retired myself and so no longer work there.

I attended Brian’s service today and to say I was humbled is an understatement.

It was a fitting send off for someone that earned the respect of everyone that ever had met him; he was a dedicated, hard working and genuine person.

It was also nice to see representatives of Hull FC there alongside a large contingent of people from all sectors of Rugby League, amateur and professional.

He will live on in the memory of all who had the pleasure to meet him.
