Or on the flip side to that you recall a winger to play on the wing and replace the centre that has been covering there, which in turn makes the team stronger. Do you keep the team the same then even if you can make it stronger?

Well made point Dave. Calders would add to the team IMO however it is a tough call to make. If a player performs well on the pitch and you then drop him what message does that give to other players especially fringe players.

These are decisions Agar has not had to make previously with our injury run, now he has to make them and i hope he makes the right call for the TEAM rather than the individual concerned.

If they are winning,and they are.....you keep it as it is....simple really.

I'm not saying the players should be dropped but it's important other squad members get some game time incase of an injury crisis, and with the reserve season not started yet, next week is the perfect opportuinity

It's not about dropping him, it's about the conversation Agar has with him. Lets be honest here, Hally knew when he came into the team on the wing it was for a short period of time to cover Calders injury. FWIW its irrelevant anyway as Calders wont be back for Celtic.



If Agar has the correct conversation then Hally will take being replaced (not dropped) ok. Agar is going to have a challenge this year keeping all of the backup players happy anyway.

Indeed. I dont buy the 'team stays the same if we're winning' arguement so i dont think it is as simple as Baldy is making out.



I prefer the approach highlighted by the Berro call 'play my strongest team' approach.

The point though is that Berro came back immediately because he strengthened the team. Calders is the same situation in our opinion, obviously not in yours.

Simple to me.....teams winning and team is settled......lets go back to the last 2 seasons and chop and change things.



If you want to make it stronger...Calderwood in and Hall to centre then.

He may well strengthen the team but he shouldnt come back as we are winning and playing well......Dont forget,Calderwood has his faults.

The last 2 seasons we've been forced to change things because of injury. This season we have the luxury up to now of having these kind of debates. Horses for courses though for me, heavy ground makes Whiting a better option at centre. Firmer ground and Hally is the best centre we have.







I know Calders has his faults, simple choice for me though is that he is an International winger and brings something extra to that position than Hally does. As ive said though, Calders wont be back so no debate this week. I hope we hammer Celtic and Hally scores 3 so we can have this debate again next week.
