| A restructure doesn't mean there are financial 'difficulties'....efficencies are always looked at and maybe the structure needed re-jigging - value for money etc......that in general is good business sense.
Obviously it's tough on those who's positions are under review and ultimately go, fingers crossed all can find alternative employment or continued employment within the current organisation.

| Dennis Moore is obviously taking over the overseeing of youth development. If he is good enough for aussie schools he's good enough for us.
The other redundancies will be to do with lowering over-heads to cope with the extra costs of borrowing £2 million for the training facilities.
Do we need to beg and sell our souls to the Red Tabs? NO

There may also be some division of labour with City, Pearson was always keen to remove duplication between the two organisations where possible. Let the idiots like Bertie say what they like, we don't have the embarassment of our CEO hand wringing in The Sun for all to see.

| Quote GraftonRed="GraftonRed"Me too.......FC cant be making staff redundant, only clubs in financial difficulty do that!

but it will be funny to see the hullers spin on this as they ATTEMPT to worm their way out this one
cue Mrs Ba.......rista'"
Clubs with a sustainable business model get there because they have the ability to make tough business decisions and prune costs as they go along. Never understood the decision to appoint him anyway, and Moore has far more impressive experience in this area. Sorry for Lee, but I can't recall many on here saying his training methods and expertise were irreplaceable.

| He was a great player for Hull but the appointment was a strange one and perhaps taken for the wrong reasons.
Losing your job is very tough though and I hope he gets sorted soon.

| Quote Bertie="Bertie"Anytime is bad to be made redundant but with Christmas nearly upon us it s even worse, especially for a player and coach who has given his club many years loyal service.
I hope the Hull Daily Mail repeat the usual procedure and give the CEO a chance to explain these decisions in a question and answer format, to reasure the mass ranks of black and white faithful.'"
Why?
He can spend his severence pay on Christmas and also has plenty of time to spend with the family before looking for employment in January.

As he's been with us less than a year I hope we have paid him no such thing.
(de-personalising it, and him just being "an employee" and not an ex-player)

Maybe severence was the wrong word, I believe we have paid him most of the money he was due next season anyway. This was a professional decision NOT a financial one unlike the article was trying to make out.

We shouldn't be making payments we don't have to, ex player or not.
