As we all know, Calderwood's had several injury set backs this season...but do we gamble on giving him a 1 year deal on reduced pay?



If he can prove his fitness in November then I would say yes, as we won't find another winger of his quality available at short notice. And he is one of our few players who can do something unexpected and not just the boring drives up the middle.



all depends on his fitness, and if we can secure him on a lower paid deal I suppose.



In an ideal world we'd sign another top class winger, a half, a prop and cover at fullback...but there simply isn't the cap space.

personally id like the club to bring in a top quality overseas centre but this aint gonna happen so an option could be to give calders another year on reduced pay and maybe put briscoe in centres not sure on that 1 but it gives us the option which we aint had in the past.

I like/rate Calders but TBH do we need him now ? We have already Lynne, Sharpe, Briscoe, Whiting etc. I think that we should look to spend his salary elsewhere.

Need to start getting the ball out wide more often before we worry about this, our priority needs to be at halfback yet again.



Calders has been unfortunate with injury and although when he has played he as always given 100% i think we have had enough problems with injuries over the past few years to even contemplate taking a risk on someone who has become injury prone.

Priority has to be a centre. Then again, I've been saying that since Barnett senior left!

how anyone thinks we need a centre is beyond me, we need 6/7 cover (in an ideal world we'd get a new 6/7 of some repute!)

Can't afford to have salary cap tied up in someone who has repeated hamstring problems. I like Calderwood but with Briscoe, Sharp and Lyne we have bigger priorities. I hope we use our cap and quota space for a FB / HB

I think Lyne is at least another year from being first choice. Rovers targeted him and other teams will do the same. He is too light for now but will be a good player i'm sure.

we do need a top quality centre berro is solid but nothing more, players such as greame horne, whiting, turner who have played in this posistion over the past few years are nothng more then average we need a quaity strike player that offers us some good attacking ability. but i do agree we need halfback cover and a quality prop so its about getting the balance right in the squad.
