All I can say is if Mariano gets the boot it's Wakefield's loss and another teams gain, maybe Mariano wants out, that's why he isn't applying himself as he should. Maybe it's frustration that he can't hold a 1st team position even though every time he plays he holds his own, if not better.

People are speaking like they are actually there . Mariano doesnt apply himself in training blah blah blah. All I know hes a damm sight better than a 3rd rate aussie in Vince Mellars and he should be playing. If he aint going to training and been a nusence he should be fined!

I think what you are saying is flawed too, it is apparent that RA rates neither FM or VM. However due to the position we are in at the moment he feels VM offers more than FM.

I don't think anyone disagrees that Mariano is ahead of Mellars in preference to keep.

He is behind Kirmond, Ali, Washbrook and now Anakin in my opinion though so that is why he isn't in the first team. Nothing to do with Mellars.

Mellars only got in when he needed to rotate squad.

I understand where you are coming but Kyle Wood could of quite happily took his bat and ball home after not featuring in consecutive games. Difference was he (KW) trained like a spartan, listened to advice and was respective and responsive.

No, if he isn't training properly and is sulking/cutting corners then he should not be playing, even if it meant playing kids in his place. Look what happened to Kyle Amor - dropped when we needed him to keep everyone else in line (and perfectly correct decision IMO).

If he wants to play and prove to Agar that he's wrong then he needs to show the attitude and commitment in training to prove he is worthy of a spot in the team.

We can't afford to allow players to cut corners - we don't have the strength or quality to allow players to see someone who is not committed get away with it.

Mariano isn't a young kid either, he's 26 now and should be a first pick. The fact that he isn't speaks volumes. He has a terrible injury record which may or may not be down to how he prepares and looks after himself but it will likely be a factor. Also throughout his time with us, despite his technique being ok he's had poor defensive stats in that he misses an awful lot of tackles. And they do say defence is about attitude...
