goes to show how different age groups are , a very pleasant experience although we lost 13-8

Indeed- it wasn't a bad trip at all when they were under 8's, but god knows what happens after that !

The new u 8's played but lost both of their games - v.v. early days for them though .

cas panthers u10s game finished panthers 20 shaw cross 12, not the best game in the world with lots of errors but we managed to play some decent stuff for 10 minutes and that won us the game.

bad day at eastmoor for stanley going down 28-16 ... showed myself up a little by letting the situation get to me and i for one should know better that at no time at all should i criticize the referee in front of kids. no excuses for it all im a ex coach and touch line manager for another group . goes to show that it can happen to anyone .



the game itself was a disappointment as very little of the training was implemented and i wish that referees who officiate other age groups would realise that different rules apply to different age groups . however its been a good season all round and perhaps best that i will miss next weeks game against heworth.

i wouldnt worry about it too much,emotions can get the better of most of us and if i said what i thought in my head at times id be strung up.junior rugby is a stressfull business and at times kids send you barmy especially when you know they can do better.



has for refs we had a grade 1 referee this morning and in his words he had drawn the short straw getting a u10s game and it had been so long since he last reffed at u10s he didnt know the rules and true to his word he didnt.

Basically a bit of a call to arms.



Wakefield City RLFC coached by Jonny Thompson would welcome any players for the coming season. We are currently entering into preseason and a better set of lads you will struggle to meet.



JT is a blinding coach and the sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday are open to all. I made my come back last year after 8 year out and loved every minute of it, cant wait for 2010-11.

If it was the same div that we had the week before i couldn't blame you one bit !At training on Tuesday the kids were saying that the ref had been calling them " cheating little b£$%ards " when someone was injured !!!

Crigg under 10's trip to France was fantastic - on the same plane as the players going over who played quite happily against the lads on their DS's - great start to the trip ! They then played at half time against the Catalans 12-13 year old team!! but ended up drawing 1-1 . The Wakey fans we're magnificent , singing "all blacks" and applauding them all back to the stand after - have to admit to being quite choked .

Back to earth next week though - Garforth away .

did you have the chance to play a full game before ko,its seems a long way to go just to play at ht.its something id like to do if they ever give cas an away game at catalans in the summer months rather than march every year.



well done to the kids im sure the experiance will live long in their memories and to get a draw against kids 3-4 years older is a good effort regardless of their standard.
