| Quote REDWHITEANDBLUE="REDWHITEANDBLUE"As others have said the poor standard of officials is killing the game as a spectator sport. I have no enthusiasm for the game I watch my team that's it. That is in question at the moment because the way the game is going enjoyment becomes anger. I don't need to pay to watch a bloke that kill a spectator sport it's a joke and the rest are not much better. When it becomes a discussion of the officials the game as entertainment has lost it!'"
Couldn’t agree more. My love of RL is hanging by the thinnest of threads, its got to the point where i’ve stopped enjoying it the majority of times, win or lose. It’s probably time for a break.

| Two matches for Chan for a dangerous throw. Should have been a straight red for a dangerous tackle.

| And yet there are still posters on this forum that believe that officials don't "cheat." If Grant wasn't "cheating" yesterday then he should be immediately sacked for total inadequacy. Total disregard for the opposition's gamesmanship. He made Hicks look like a super ref.

'" .
Other than the Murphy call the most outrageous incident in the game. A two handed shove off the ball a yard from the touch judge. Pure pantomime, an insult to the fans and proof that unless you're top four it all depends which idiot is in the middle whether you have a chance or not. Disgraceful and they wonder why the game is struggling.

Yes I saw the same. Gaskell was standing still and he just got shoved off the ball and it should have been a straight up penalty maybe even 10 as the ball was way up in the air still. Linesman was close as you say and completely ignored it. Gaskell had a right go at the touch judge too after in what can only be described as disgust. We had to defend 2 sets after that….
To compound it the ref then piggy backed them up field after the crowd got on his back for the officials mistake.
I’d have to think twice about paying my hard earned if Grant is officiating again. There’s making mistakes and beyond that and for me you just can’t defend some of the incidents.

| Live, referees often appear biased. On TV, they are often proved to be right most of the time.
I do think there is some reluctance to ping the bigger teams though, perhaps from an assumption that they know what they are doing, and sometimes it is hard to fathom what they are thinking. I remember the Marshall try against Wigan a couple of years, in a game we had to win to ensure we didn't go to the wire, and Marshall actually ran away from the mark on the 20m line so that he could tap and run straight into a gap. That's the kind of thing that infuriates me, that makes me wonder what they were thinking.
On the other hand, for most decisions they are closer than we are, and most often in TV games they are shown to be right.
I wish they'd grow some nads sometimes though, with the bigger clubs. In the NRL, Nathan Cleary copped a sending off and a five-match ban for a dangerous throw. Here, had it been a star player, they'd have bottled it.
As for the current state of refs and spoiling the games, we've complained of bias and cheating and incompetence for as long as I can remember. One ref was even chased from the field. I'm not convinced it's a new problem.

The touch judge was a =#FF0000lot nearer than us when he "didn't see" Gaskell blatently being pushed off the ball.

I'm told that Salford fans are up in arms over Thaler's performance yesterday...as can be seen above, Leeds have picked up 3 suspensions after yesterday's game but apparently not one of the offences was penalised during the game and Sezer's trip on the Salford player was given as a knock-on ????
