| Walshaw is not been allowed to play longer, look at the Wigan game. It was obvious to everyone in the crowd where I was that Kirmond was having a nightmare. Carmont ran over him, through him and around him several times in the first 20 mins, fortunately for Kirmond he had Walshaw defending next to him. Walshaw not only made his own tackles but he did Kirmonds as well. We lost count of the number of times that Walshaw saved us.
Meanwhile on the other side of the pitch Lee Smith was doing a good job looking after Goulding ( is that correct name ? ) . So the first question is, if the fans nearer me could see what was happening why could our coaching team not see the problem. Option one would have been to switch Kirmond and Smith and see if Smith could do a better job with Carmont than Kirmond. Option two would have been to remove Kirmond from the field of play, put Walshaw in the centre to mark Carmont and put Trout in the second row. The very last thing that should have happened, lets call it option 3 would have been to take Walshaw of and leave Kirmond to look after Carmont.
Guess what we went for option 3, with the obvious result that Carmont ran riot.

Have you read the Walshaw article on the official site? From your comments I can only presume you have not

| Quote charlie63wildcat="charlie63wildcat"Sorry but I think thats a lot of linking of wishful thinking. Cas and Salford ought to be realistic targets but the way we defend and throw away possession, we are always lucky to win. Cas away...they slammed us once this year and Wheldon Jungle is a graveyard at the best of times for Wakey. Salford in great form. HullKR and Huddersfied just too good for us. Widnes not good away,,2 points. AGAR OUT ASAP come the end of the season, I would hope but not holding my breath. Seems we are committed to seeing out our compromise coach's contract. Great - we seem to ne getting Newmarket. 2 years of a shambles on the pitch if we keep Agar...it gives me very strange mixed feelings.'"
Still don't agree, all I've said is they are realistic wins and I stand by that 100% and just because you're down on the team that isn't going to change that fact.

| Did anybody else go to the meeting when elston said are main priority when selecting a new coach would be somebody who could develop the youth at the club.Am i right in thinking that this would entale some kind of commitment to the youngsters or just palm em off to other clubs and let them do it for us.Still on reflection those he has taken to, seem spoiled 5mins at the end of the game or thrown in against wigan or saints he never played youth at hull and he won t here, favourites, favourites allday everyday c mon glover sort it b4 we have a load more of his favourites who can t get in hulls side

I think a lot of work needed to be done in terms of the coaching, conditioning and structures around the youth set-up and its links to the first team, before a pathway to SL could be a realistic option for the majority of our youngsters. I don't know the details, but I think a lot of that work has taken place and should start to be more apparent next season and in the seasons that follow.
In the meantime, I'm glad we're using DR more effectively - something we've singularly failed to do in the past.

Like who?
He is playing Washbrook as he is one of our best and most consistent performers this year.
He isn't playing Motu Tony who I assume he thinks is too old.
Who else do you mean?

| I am being swayed about the Ellis for Wood arguement but equally it goes against the same arguement by some.
He brought in Wood as a young kid he thought he could develop. He has given him a chance and he has played some good and some not great. If he is to treat him the way some on here are saying it shows worse treatment than not putting the other kids in.
Like I said I agree I'd like to see Ellis now, but this just proves why you have to be slow and patient with the kids. If you throw them in too soon you might find the one in a hundred who performs under pressure, but I'm kind of keen to see if we can get something out of the other 99 and that means handling with care.
Wood handled it better than many would and still has not been able to sustain it. Gledhill also springs to mind on that note. Lets not break all our others until they are ready.

| Would be happy with wins V Leeds/Cas and Widnes and that would give us 11th about what I expected in season one
The fact is on our day we could beat anybody Huddersfield is very winnable I will go 3 wins from 7 but if we beat Leeds I dont care
No matter what this season it could have being worse London spent the cap Huddersfield are in freefall and have spent a lot more than us

| Quote wrencat1873="wrencat1873"Which 3, Cas, Widnes and Salford, or are we gonna have a shock win against Saints or Leeds ?'"
Huddersfield A - Winnable on their current form but the coaching situation will probably get them the win. Hudds win.
Leeds H - Had our chance the other week. Leeds have turned the corner and are doing what they did last season, playing when it matters. Despite us giving them a good run again i think it will be a Leeds win.
Cas A - Surely we can up our game for this one! Wakefield win.
Saints H - Saints have never really been a team I fear us playing. They play open rugby and give every team a chance of a win if you can stifle their play. On the back of a victory at Cas and a big home crowd I'll go for a shock Wakefield win.
Hull KR A - An up and down team who are always beatable. Close game but think they will be wanting to catch HFC and make the 8. HKR win.
Widnes H - Must win game at all costs. Wakefield win.
Salford A - Again, an up and down team who are always beatable. Think they will still have a chance for the top 8 even at this late stage. Salford win.

To be honest i think they are all winable games but the way we are playing i cant see us getting another win before the end of the season. Widnes are coming good I dont think they will be the walkover everyone expects. Possibly we might beat Cas but i see big losses in the other games.
Maybe Agar wont hit his target of winning a third of all the superleague games thats 9 wins currently he has 6. Think it could be bye bye agar at the end of the season - but who to replace him with???
