Now lets take stock of what you have said here because i think im about to commit blasphemy on this board and break one of RLFans 10 commandments.
Would it be fair to say John Kear is at fault for playing him out of position? Lets be honest Grix stands up and takes the shirt but at Hull the game changed when kear moved things about. The problem is though who considering the current injury situation does kear pick above Grix????? .

Yep - but we aint got anybody else fit to be fair.
However, it is the defensive pattern that we have got well wrong. Grix was in the right position in relation to his inside man, yet on occassion had 2 men outside him - that is not his fault.
We were clearly found out against Wigan on one wing and against Bradford on the other - it is the pattern of play that we are not executing well enough - i.e. no one is reading what the opposition are doing - so when they slip the full-back + one other into the right side attack, we don't adjust, result - TRY.
Very very poor!

What about the week before? There seems to be some confusion about if Murphy was injured or dropped to the A team - did we ever clear this one up?

| Grix was always on a loser. He was never going to beat his oppposite winger for pace and he was never going to win in a jump for a high ball. I don't remember a defensive howler by him, I just remember that he was being out-paced. If a winger gets outnumbered, the problem is usually further in, and I don't think you can actually blame the winger.
For me, Bradford just played better on the day. Their defence was superb in the second half, and they played with some zip in the first. I'm just hoping that we take the second half form into the weekend, although I suspect that Wigan will hit a purple patch now.

I watched the game at 12.30 this morning and i must agree Slugger. The problem was eminating from the inside and Bradford threw alot of numbers that side from the off, they obviously targeted that side and it took us a while to get sorted. Grixy unfortuately was the one on the end of it. Bradford played well agreed.
Overall we werent all that bad, we had decisions go against us and Fergies injury didnt help our subs rotation. We could do with Stosic coming back, he helps lay a good platform
I feel that our short kicking game should be more along the ground rather than chips over the top which more times than not are giving our opponents 20 metes tap restarts far to easily. Most of our players really put in on Saturday the stats show that.
good luck against Wigan i am sure i will hear your voices singing out loud like i always do win or lose.
Cheers Con

Well im not sure on his injury situation but i think Gleeson would do better defensively there and what about given George a chance now tho hes gonna end up a centre i recogn... Its time to give Winterstein a chance too and get Rooney on the bench - where a bit predictable now - a bit of freshness wont do any harm and after all, its not as if leaving this current side as it is has done any better is it in the last 2 games !! I also think Grix is a talent and tries his socks off but we need to get him in the pk...

| I agree Grix hasnt been at his best and needs to find the same form he showed for ireland and the begging of this year, if we want to stay cometitive in the top 6 we need 2 top class wingers (Blanchy is one but for this year)peterson didnt seem to offer much!!

From his first game in how many months
He did well I thought and so did the majority of others otherwise we would have had a 5 page thread about him saying he's a waste of space.
I dont think he's been given enough time. Let him have an uninterupted amount of games free from injury before we judge.

| He had a great world cup for Ireland and really stood up and showed some maturity,
Must say that if we can get that back into his game and find his ideal position on the pitch then we could be looking at a really good prospect for the future.
Hopefully see Scott with a bit more confidence in his game, and have no doubt JK will do all he can to try and get the confidence Scott needs.

Murphy was originally dropped to the first team and was very suprised by this but whilst playing in the reserve team game the first week he was dropped he broke his arm
