| Yawn. Carter of course thinks six points isn't enough. This from the Wakefield chairman!

So who is out the get Wakefield this week then?
The panel must consist of a solicitor and insolvency practitioner, which to my mind seems fair enough. If the 6 points is deemed justified then I for one will accept that decision.'"
My issue is with the grounds of your appeal. It seems logical that the events were entirely foreseeable and avoidable and the worry is that there will be some fancy legal argument which means you get no points deduction at all.
Now I don't care what anyone says if you get no points deduction it makes a mockery of the sports rules.
If you get a reduced deduction based on force majeure then again that is imo against the spirit of the rules brought in re admin to prevent clubs overspending.
Had you simply chosen to pay off enough creditors and got a lesser points deduction in the first place then I would have no issue with it.
It just seems this whole appeal process has come out of nowhere and has no downside for the bulls. If u are successful in your appeal I expect the RFL to close the loophole meaning no other club can benefit from it. Again, imo an unfair advantage to the Bulls.

The 6pts deduction was handed to us about a month before Marc Green bought the club.

| I still can't get my head round why were told we'd be demoted 2 leagues whilst Bradford talk of points deduction and have been in administration twice since we have. It is the elephant in the room and makes this a complete farce.

| I have nothing against the Bulls, however you went into Administration and should be punished for it. Twice in 2 years we got told we'd drop divisions if we went in again.

Your right B B but as I understand it your not appealing because you are intending to pay some creditors off. If that was the basis of the appeal then I would have no issue with it

| Expect more farce and a reduction in the 6 point penalty.
Nothing in the sport of RL is a surprise any more.
Bradford went into admin just before the start of the 2014 season, which gave the RFL a stark choice, either prop them up until a buyer was found, or allow them to drop of the edge of the cliff, which was no choice.
Therefore on the basis of previous deductions (for admin) there seems little reason to change the 6 point penalty, but this wont prevent the points deduction being reduced, or wiped completely.

| I would expect that the minimum criteria will relate to the payment of the money owed to the HMRC. They appear to have been forgotten by many but have not gone away and they will want their money or I am sure they have the power to make it difficult for all parts of the RL. I doubt we could be considered to be their favourite sport at the moment.

| Quote upthecats="upthecats"I thought the panel deciding the verdict was totally independant and nothing to do with the rfl?
Don't think I'd have a problem with 2 points being returned....think 4 or 6 would be a bit naughty....
Whatever the outcome, I just hope we kick on from today and gain enough wins....which we are more than capable of doing....to make sure any possible points off Bradford aren't the difference between one of us being relegated....'"

| I think the points deduction will remain 6. The Bulls from what I understand have lodged the appeal based upon an unforeseeable event. They have to prove this before any alteration to the points deducted would be considered. This is unlikely and the case will more than likely be thrown out.
If by some means they manage to prove this, the panel will draw on previous cases e.g. Crusaders & Wakefield who paid the majority of their creditors and were deducted 4. From what I understand the Bulls didn't pay the tax man

| They shouldn't get anything other than a complete dressing down for wasting everybody's time and dragging Rugby League back into the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Force Majure my Ass,
Have they paid ANY Creditors back?
My judgement would be the penalty remains at 6pts and my post appeal report would lambast the Bulls for their conduct and state they were lucky that rules didn't allow the Independent Panel to double it!
I've no faith in this though and think its a stitch up!

| I don't think it's a stitch up. To give a lot of points back would be saying that the RFL got it very wrong, which also had the effect of deterring potential buyers and demoralising players and fans, making relegation a self-fulfilling prophecy.
What they might say is that the points deduction was correct based on the information available at the time, but subsequent efforts to repay creditors merits a reduction to 4 points, bringing it in line with previous deductions.
The last I read, however, the RFL were saying that the owner who ran them into the ground still owed them £190,000 or something, so I can't see the RFL being too Bulls-loving.
The point of the appeal, in my view, is that to have refused the right to one would have been a breach of natural justice, which could mean judicial review and the whole season going up in smoke. My view is that the RFL have allowed an appeal to take place to comply with the rules of natural justice. It doesn't mean the appeal will be successful. Sometimes you've just got to wait a bit longer to get what you want.
