I dont think the attendance is that bad tbh. salford v quins would have attracted a crowd no bigger than 3000. Your match v Bradford only got 6500 easter Monday and Wigan v saints around 20k so the combined attendance is about right.



Plus im pretty sure there was a smaller crowd for the first day last year. Its a weekend away and a chance for rugby league to show how great the fans are look at all the supporters of different clubs together having a great time. If anything it is a great advert for the game.



This is the 3rd year of this weekend and the crowd seems to be growing every year i remember the first grand final only attracting aroud 40k and it grew every year and now its a sell out. If we give the magic weekend a chance i believe the same will happen.

Why not if word spreads what a great weekend is i believe it will grow evey year. Your saying scrap it when the concept is clearly getting more popular. These things take time.



Also your forgetting there are 4 games tommorow so dont be suprised if the crowd is pushing 40k.



As for where im sat im at home buddy due to reasons beyond my control i havent been able to make this year i planned on been there and even purchased tickets. However i was there last year and will be there next year.

The real issue is the publicity for the sport, and a nice weekend away for those who could travel. You will never fill Murrayfield for a RL event unless you host the CC final there (and even then, it will depend on who's playing).

The problem with the Magic weekend attendence figure is that at no time during the day all the fans will have been in the ground at once.

Well if fans get up there, say 3/4 k from each club and back the teams/players then the whole concept it will be fine, you can do the day for £35 if you want to, now i understand that some just can't find that money and have famillies to consider but i'll bet 500 plus Wakey fans spent that in the pub on Sat, the same ones who moan about £18 quid to get in at BV with a £3 quid bottle in their hand.

i thought we took a decent following, as we did to cardiff last year, went up on the day easy to get to 4 hours with a stop so fans have options if they get off there backsides. if they can watch in the pub then they could save up and go its a year away

the money people spend isnt the issue really, never can be for me after the amount i spent in canet du plage last year!



My issue is mainly the change in focus of what is what there for, originally it was for promotion of rl and over the weekend the focus became just how good it had been as an economic stimulus, so in essence we played 7 random games to stimulate scotlands economy?



and 10 million is a lot of cash, over 3 years its easily a purpose built rl stadium for the game as a whole, location, well you can argue that one for ever and a day.
