| Plenty of comments on other threads about how we have done this season but, what do we think about the season as a whole.
Probable 9/10th place finish
Poor Cup form
Excellent crowds
Kirmo and others signed for next season
Based on pre season expectations, with most people expecting/hoping for another top 8 finish we have probably under achieved a little on the field and with the introduction of a 12 team top flight, we desperately need a solution to our problems at S/O.
Timmy has been our only playmaker for most of the season and this has severely restricted our options in attack and had we had some more effective cover at #6 we would most likely have made the 8. Therefore, this has to be the clubs priority for the close season.
Finishing 8th last term has probably raised expectations too quickly and means that the end of this season has fizzled away but at least we have the Cas game to look forward to for the last game of the season.
It will be interesting to see if the faithful purchase their S/T's in big numbers as, more than ever, it's critical that we have the chance to compete in the 12 and certainly this time next year we will need to be in top form, either to avoid finishing 8th, or to ensure our SL future.

| The last 2 seasons have seen a really slow start to the campaign. IMO to give us the best chance of staying in SL, we need to be winning 60-70% of the first 10 games. Get into a rhythem and habit of winning. This means that we will need 4 or so pre season games with the 1st team all playing to get rid of rustyness and build confidence. I'd play against teams like sheffield, Fev, Fax and a SL team. teams we should be beating but who wont roll over. Anyway back on tangent, There have been highs and lows, some individuals have stood out for both right and wrong reasons and we are out of the 8 which is dissapointing as i'd have hoped to regain 8th. Worried again that the club could be on its backside, although nothing has been confirmed. However we have re signed some great players, have signed a great Wigan player, we have a fantastic set of forwards and just need to improve our wings and get some consistency back at stand off IMO to get into the 8,7,6 positions. dissapointing finish from a season with so much potential, but not as bad as some are making out.

| Better game management and composure we would be way in the 8 unfortunatly we haven't done anything about it. This season been very wasteful but entertaining. Losing Mariano a low point. Signing Collis and Kirmond for longer deals good. Agar not sure about.

| League Position:
Not where we should be but we have got to take into consideration teams around us have been getting better also.
If we had won all the games we should/could have one we would be in the 8 IMO.
I'd be happy with a 9th or 10th finish.
Players:
Kirmo finding his feet and being signed on a long-term contract along with Collis is great news, hopefully many more to follow.
Not to happy about young players being given a chance but hey, if they don't fit in the jigsaw then why play them.
Glad to see Annakin being extended but should be played at Loose Forward instead of a front rower.
Ben Cockayne getting into the England squad is good news however his form in the second half of the season has been baba along with Fox.
Agar is doing well with the resources he has been given.
Next season:
Should be a really exciting year especially with P&R with a 12 team league.
Chris Tuson coming to us from Wigan who is a very strong player with good working ethic (both attack and defence) hopefully he brings some experience on how to win close games as we have struggled recently.
Even though we have Sykes signed up I would be thinking that we should be searching for a new halfback to partner Tim Smith, one who attacks the line more and has a quick burst of pace. I would also like to see Kay getting more first team action as I believe he could replace either of our wingers.
I hope we can keep hold of Kyle Amor as he is a very good prospect and will be coming into his prime in a few years time.
Fans:
Some fans mainly post negatives things but we all want the best for the club and I think DAVE@CAS1990 is infact a Wakefield Fan in disguise!

| On field, frustrating would be the word i'd use. Could, maybe should, have been better. But the re-signings are a promising sign.
Off field the word would be worrying. How do we find ourselves struggling so badly again so soon?

| Think we have under achieved to be honest. We know that Bradfords point deduction helped us in the 8 last year, but I think we have less points so far this season.
It took us 2 thirds the way through last season to gel,yet this year the squad is a little more settled and were currently 10th.
We still have no recognised number 6, yet this year we have seen two halves go with no replacement, but yet we have seen 3 new back rowers come in. I find this baffling.
Off the pitch the club still seem to waste and lose money

| "A season of missed opportunities" tbf this could be the summary for wakey for as long as I can remember.
I think even after last seasons epic offerings I could live with missing out on the eighth spot, its the off field situation that is a disappointment, despite the supporters getting behind the club.
Rumours of pending doom, ccj's mounting up, stories of employees having to take pay cuts, the selling off of the match day refreshments, twitter nonsense, segregation and poor stewarding...
All these issues lie with the clubs management and while I don't consider these issues to be necessarily quick fixes, I begin to question whether or not they are just as a result of poor management and knee jerk reactions.
I would love to see a management structure diagram and job descriptions for senior employees in order to assertion who is culpable for what, in what looks to be on the surface of it, a similar position to what we found ourselves in a few years ago.
With the slapstick approach and banter we have seen at ST evenings in the past from AG and JE, its not hard to project the view that if that is the way they carry on it won't be too long until we are making the headlines in the RL media again.
I'm not naturally a pessimist, nor am I a doom monger. Quite the opposite I put huge faith into the new regime after the unpleasantness of the death of the old lot, however its not hard to draw comparisons.

| Underperformed. If Kear and Broadbent would have had the squad we currently have a top 8 would have been guaranteed.

Looked back a bit regarding the predictions some of us made at the start of the year.
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=542554&tsmp=1376653529
Safe to say Trinity are where I expected them to be this season, I was looking for an improvement in defence which although recently the against column has been less than the 28 average it was earlier in the season, it’s still a very poor trait of the teams play, out wide in particular. There are other aspects which I am disappointed by which I’ve commented elsewhere.
The renewal of key players contracts is a positive to take away from a largely frustrating season.
