Looks like my computers been infected with spyware or some such garbage,it seems to be blocking everything i do,can't find my AVG anywhere,can't do a system restore,the thing won't allow me to download a new AVG,it's just trying to get me to buy their own protection,anyone any ideas how to get rid of the thing?

mmmm. sounds a bit like conficker. it blocks/deletes programs especially anti-virus. there are some programs you can download to specifically remove this (try searching google).Can you open the task manager? (one symptom) I had something very similar but it never really went away. in the end I took all my files off and reformatted the hard drive then re-installed every thing. the document files were ok it was just older programs & .exe and antivirus it attacked.

try running a trend micro scan it is a program on the t'internet that might be able to help you, also AVG is abit rubbish now it used to be quite good for free anti virus software but Avast is the best you can get a the moment!

Tried Trend but it just blocks it,also tried to download Avast but that gets blocked too,it looks a clever one this one!!

You will need to get the PC re-formated if possible.

Is there no way round it??

If you can get some kind of spyware \ anti virus software on there, then in theory you could get rid of whatever it is. However it won't be the same, they leave behind alsorts of c**p so it's best to delete everything and start again.
