I was not a fan of stop clock seems a gimmick, believe the refs job to ensure there is no time wasting, but after last night changed my mind game a bit, game over at 9.30 got to watch Vikings and the Orville and TOTP 1987 before bed, last season game takes up you whole evening.

My only concern with it at the scrum is, what happens if the team who does not have the feed delay forming their scrum say until the 28 - 29 second point. If the team with the feed then can't quite get the ball in who gets penalized? It almost happened a couple of times last night.

I’ve just read that Thursdays game ran for 88 minutes which is 10 minutes less than the average time of the Wigan v Saints games last season. Only 1 visit to the video ref helped that of course but I’m all in favour of the shot clock. Good move Mr Elstone!
