I thought with those 2 early scores tonight was the night they would finally beat us but after that Saints bossed the rest of the game and Wire were no threat. It seemed like they'd run out of gas.



They must have more idiots amongst their support than any other SL club though,walking back to the town centre after the game we had to put up with beauts hanging their heads out of cars and taxis shouting abuse at passing Saints fans. Morons.



They didn't spoil a good night though.

Whilst you didn't disappear in vast numbers there was a steady flow along the back of the Eddy end for the last 10-15 minutes. I'd hazard a guess at about 20% of your support left before the final hooter...

There's no real comfort for you there. You MIGHT beat Wigan, but then Wigan MIGHT beat you. There are no bragging rights there because it could go either way. Even when Wigan were crap, we always got 50% of the results when it came to Wigan v Wire. There is absolutely NOTHING for you to take comfort from in that respect. You still CAN'T beat Saints, which means you'll never win the trophy that counts.



What would concern me most if I was a Wire fan is that tonight's game suggests that you have run out of steam. Let's be honest, you were crap. You had ten good minutes, and then collapsed. We were all saying it would be a walking day for you, but you barely threatened the Saints line after the try that you all thought had won it for you (8 minutes in - I mean, for God's sake!).



What followed was undeniable proof of inferiority. YOU PROVED THAT YOU WERE NOT AS GOOD AS THEM. How embarrassing is that? Just think ... you'll go to your grave thinking "the best we had was still bested by the second best team in the league".



No pressre, pal, but that memory may define you for eternity.
