If you look a little closer at the ticket, it actually has 'bowl' in a different font at the side as the original thinking was that there would be an overall ban, whereas it's just a ban on taking ale to your seats ie 'in the stadium bowl'.

Im sure myself and quite a few others will have had more than enough before we get in the ground

Old Trafford being a football staduim has different rules to RL grounds... they sell alcohol but you cannot drink in the view of the pitch (ie cant take it to your seats..)

Thats not strictly true. The alcohol laws are set by the organising body (RFL) in agreement with the police.

In Old Trafford's boxes you are only allowed to drink for a certain period. They actually empty the fridge before the game and restock it after for football. Not sure about RL matches though.

That's right. It's only been in the last year or two you couldn't take it to your seat following the bit of trouble in 2007



The stewards last year were on very high alert, getting in the way of the match every couple of minutes trying to get to people that had snuck a drink back to their seat

Surely people can go the duration of the game minutes without booze?



If not, dont bother attending and watch it in the pub.

Talking to a united season ticket holder last night, you want want to drink the beer inside the ground. They have changed provider. The name escapes me but its like p**s apparently.
