The clock had the desired effect of avoiding time wasting. I realise it is new but do we really need to see the clock counting down on Sky at every opportunity? I want to watch the game without the distraction of the clock. Just let the officials monitor it.

My only concern with it at the scrum is, what happens if the team who does not have the feed delay forming their scrum say until the 28 - 29 second point. If the team with the feed then can't quite get the ball in who gets penalized? It almost happened a couple of times last night.

I’ve just read that Thursdays game ran for 88 minutes which is 10 minutes less than the average time of the Wigan v Saints games last season. Only 1 visit to the video ref helped that of course but I’m all in favour of the shot clock. Good move Mr Elstone!
