| Quote The Chronicler of Chiswic="The Chronicler of Chiswic"I've been around since 1980 and I'm not that bothered what the club calls itself or where it plays so long as it's still around and spreading the message in London and the SE. Mind you, Trevor Towner (BG knows who I'm talking about
) does seem to have left an awful lot of love children around before he departed to NZ (and if you're reading this Towner, you still owe me a pint from 1990!).'"
Right.....can we arrange for a SAGA version of this site because it's starting to smell like asparagus

| Rupe
obviously you are not a fan of the game as such then!
or will you be picking another more exciting team to go and watch
hope you enjoy the treck up the m1 every wee
FWIW technically Celtic are now my closest team !!! BUT
Having watched the first grade London team for a fair few years now, including first time round at the stoop, through the charlton years and Brentford i now count myself as a london RL fan
Hated Charlton
actually liked Brentford but lets be honest it was rubbish
I do wear the quins shirts!!! home and away but actually took the first one back to the shop when i bought it as it had no sponsors name on the back!! as in it could look like a yawnion shirt
as for the 1000´s that have deserted the club errrr when did we get those extra 1000´s in? certainly not at brentford or charlton
clubs have to evolve, as a fan then you have to make the choice evolve with it or do as you have done
hope you enjoy the more exciting!!!! team you chosse

| I must admit I can see where Rupe is coming from. I've recently been watching some games I taped on Sky from 2002-2004 period. And I must admit seeing the Broncos shirt and the likes of Retchless playing again did remind me how magical it was back then.
I must admit I don't feel totally at home being a Quin. (I would rather be a Bronco playing at the Stoop)

| I haven't even read it, but:
Go away rupe1, why wait till we're right in the middle of our biggest losing run to arrive bringing (what is no doubt) more doom and gloom.
Where were you when we beat Leeds in April, where were you after we smashed Hull KR?
I am aware the club has some issues (both on and off the field, some major) but only ever posting when the chips are down doesn't make you much of supporter.
You said Chad Randall wasn't Super League quality in 2006? Still want to go along with that?
EDIT: Went to the bother of reading it, just in case. Wish I hadn't, could have predicted it all almost line for line.

I, for one, support your contribution.
Please don't feel bad about the negative responses your earlier posting has attracted to date.
Keep the faith.

| Quote Dave Lister="Dave Lister"Steele Retchless used a quota spot. He became a London legend and was as unspectcular as they come. I know of few players like Williamson in the league. Please, name a few that compare.'"
Are you criticising Steele Retchless?
If so, what's behind this criticism?

Agreed............. but without some sugar daddy prepared to bankroll the club and not be concerned about the losses (financial) we have to put up with the status quo. I'd much rather still be London and get a bit misty eyed watching old games on video but (big gulp!) without chucking in our lot with Harlequins we might not have a team to talk about. I'm sure I don't like it any more than you do but I'd rather watch RL at the Stoop than have no RL team to watch.

Don't be coy, I seem to recall it was 8,000 wasn't it?
I'm with you Rupe, I too long for the day when this club can go back to the glory Bronco days when we had Mitchell Stringer and Andy Brocklehurst as starting forwards. Ah yes, the glamour...

| Whilst I do agree with rupe on some things, PTB is right. If Quins had won 4 on the bounce this post wouldn't have even happened. The fact we're in a bit of a free fall isn't because we're playing under the Quins name. I've watched the Broncos lose 4,5,6 heck we had one season we finished second bottom. It's just we've lost Chad and Purdo- if you took away Sinfield and Senior from Leeds they'd be half the team they are.

| Quote rupe1="rupe1"Haven't posted on here for a while and many on here am sure are very happy about that. I hated the way London Broncos turned from an exciting club into the disgustingly named Harlequins and became a ploddingly dull outfit with less characters and excitement than even the likes of Wakefield.
I no longer wish to watch a club I dont feel part of. I am not a disloyal person - I have watched Watford for 25 years through mostly thin but that is because that club has an identity and I feel part of it. We need to go back to London Broncos, get rid of the filthy Union shirt, sign some really exciting players instead of nothings like Williamson et al and get some excitment back.
Abuse me all you like, but I represent the thousands of people who used to go and have no interest in going anymore but could and want to come back.'"
seriously? 'thousands'? come on. Our crowds are down what? 500? I have some sympathy with your views, but the chances are you're a soccer fan first not an RL fan so it was easy for you to walk away and you justify it to yourself with all the bs above.
