Quote Briali1="Briali1"It's a massive thing to Kids, get them hooked on rugby while they are here and it is the next generation of fans. Good positive move. I don't care how many come as long as they come back and we get their data and use it. There is nothing like children for winning in the parent power race. If they want to come to High Skool Musical their parents don't stand an earthly. Great'"
Yep...I saw....er exactly...er....NO G.Sampson fans at Celtic this Saturday.
Very poor marketing strategy IMO. The demographic of a northern RL fan is not the demographic of a southern RL fan. Without going into the logistics of it all, the G.Sampsons of this world appeal to a different type of fan....one that can dial 0906 and make Simon Cowell rich....but not one that can afford 300 odd notes for a ST ticket next year.....
Sorry.....but wrong and it won't work.
We have gone past the 200 extras to watch their hero/family members playing touch rugby before the game or dancing for us.
We need to see 1,000
new fans every home game with the hope we get 100 back.....not gimmick marketing appealing to an audience that has no interest in RL.
Hate to agree with listy, but I would much rather go back to the 3 questions/3 kick competition at half time.
It amazes me that some on here (and elsewhere) slag me off for being negative, but still the club continue to bleed fans whilst doing nothing about it.
Simple really. Allocate £20,000 to £25,000.......request ideas from fans and local marketing student groups at local Universities.....run a competition with a box and a cash prize for the winning ideas, (chosen by marketing professional and lecturers) and see what happens...
Can't be any worse than this will be...can it?
