is there a town or a city in britain that dosen't have a few pound shops?

Whats happening in our former industrial towns is turning people right wing.

I never buy anything of value in Leigh anymore, I sometimes look at the fantastic historical architecture around Bradshawgate, glance at the scum around town, observe the bargain shops and wonder how can we get our town back again.

Community has gone, pride has gone and people just watch whilst it happens.

We have no identity anymore and nobody seems to care.

The problem to those of us who remember the odd quality shop in Leigh is that another pound shop is what the majority of Leigh shoppers want.

Not to mention that ridiculous "dispute" in 1981 which led to so many deaths over a hellhole in the South Atlanic just so she could regain her "popularity" when the inhabithants of that hell hole could safely have been relocated to a much better climate in New Zealand.

I walked past the new pound shop (which looks better being used than boarded up) and who was in front campaigning for the next election but the Labor lot, the nerve. Who were the ones to allow the railway closure in Leigh and the abolishment of local democracy?

But having said that who will get in?
