Yeah its 50/50 mate,
AJM - Well he won the lot for us
Basil - He dragged us into the 21st century and is about to drag us into the next decade
Terk - Followed on from Ian and was a fantastic general manager for us
BB - Nearly took us back to Wembley if it wasnt for the top 1 on this list
Simmsy- well who can ever forget that unbelievable season in the early 90's, running on the pitch at the old Naughton Park leaving my old Dad standing as we celebrated victory with Lee Hansen picking me up, happy days!

| I still say Jim Crellin.
More interesting question would be who, after Murphy, has been Leigh's best coach in the last 50 years.
Abram would have to feature in top 10. Got us into Sissy League.
Millward because he turned the club round in such a short period. Hopefully, in 5 years time we'll look back and say best ever. Terzis did alright but was never completely convinced.

| Well circumstances Matt but I still think with an experienced coach we should have been Grand Final winners you know when.
Course loose cannons cost us but it,s history we are where we are.

| 1st - Alex Murphy
2nd - Ian Millward
3rd - Steve Simms
4th - Paul Terzis
5th - Darren Abram
1-4 self explanatory/ explained by others, 5th as the guy actuallly won quite a few bits in our promotion season.
I also liked Kev Ashcroft when he was in charge.
Best supporting role, Norman Turley.

| AJM, no contest. Best Leigh coach ever. One of two Cup wins, one of two league titles, two Lanacashire cups, record season in Div 2.
Behind AJM...??
Joe Egan
Steve Simms
Ian Millward
Tommy Grainey
On achievements in recent years (i.e. promotion) Darren Abram.
Pete Smethurst for that win at home to Leeds in his last game
-
Worst ever...
Jim Crellin
Tommy Dickens

Murphy never did the season in Div 2, he may have started it but then left us for St Helens!

Would have to check but I think you're wrong on that, Ste... if he did go it was right at the end of the season... seem to remember AJM was Lancashire coach that winter, too... we travelled to watch the Roses game at Watersheddings but it was called off as the pitch was frozen.
I do remember him signing Steve 'Hollywood' Halliwell for Saints in the close season, and Tony Cottrell flattening the bugger in the first minute of the first league match, as he'd broken the backline's agreement to share the cash for finishing top try scorer. I also remember him ending up on 49 tries, despite going under the sticks when the ref blew up with the ball still in play in the final minut eof the last league game (think it was against Donny, but again would have to check).

Id agree with most of the above mate just seem to think Alex left early doors that season and Tommy Dickens led the record breaking team to promotion!!
Over to the Parkies for confirmation, come on lads??
