That is the second very realistic link to Leigh i have heard so far. It would be very plausable. Him and Vea i would probably have as very good targets for them and achievable. I keep hearing rubbish about the likes of Sonny Bill Williams. I could also see players like Escare, Harrison and Philbin/Cox make that kind of move. Not sure there is anybody from us that they would or could get, Smith possibly? i could see that.

Penny is NOT going to Leigh. He has a 12 month contract.

The deal is off apparently. They couldn't agree on terms of contract or something.

All still up in the air. The Stains fans seem to think that he has verbally agreed to join them but is ok with them finding somebody better in the meantime and if they can't find someone then they will sign him (doubt that very much). That's one theory. The other is that he has already signed but neither club will announce it until after the GF and the other one is that he has been told he is free to leave if he wishes as Tommy Leaulai will be having his spot next year. Nobody seems to realy know what is going on. I suspect he has already signed for Saints though but if not i could see Leigh making him a big money signing. Beaumont isn't scared of splashing the cash and would probably give him a 3-4 year deal.

Pleased for Lineham and Penny scoring in the first 15 minutes. Sort of 2 fingers up to Smith.

What a difference a winger makes

Pennys was a real wingers try - pace and position spot on. Still a couple of brain farts from him which spoilt his performacne, but goog he got on the try sheet.



Tom's tries were fairly simple - I don't mean to decry them though. He was in the right position.

But the really impressive thing was his defence to save 2 tries.

Nothing simple about either of Lineham's tries: First of all he put himself in a position to score them, and second he picked the ball up cleanly both times when a knock-on was a real possibility (especially the last one).



He wanted it tonight and all credit to him. I have called him fit to burn this year (especially at Newcastle) but tonight he was terrific. Well done Tom.

We waited long enough for the performance but his passion and enthusiasm was easily identifiable tonight. I wish he had found it earlier but it's not too late for him as tonight showed. Brilliant performance from him tonight, his last-ditch tackle was probably the most crucial play of the match, Russell was key to that as well he bought the time for Tom to get back.
