Hang on you're a mid-table NL1 team and you're telling us that we're [i"Dross"[/i you've managed one Northern Rail cup win and runner-up, and this year you are currently 20 points behind Fev. You finished 4th last season 15 points behind Barrow, 14 behind 'Fax and even 3 behind Sheffield and finished 6th in 2008 15 pints behind us (oh and we won both trophies).
So pray tell me where on Earth are they going to find a whole new squad of players of an acceptable level to compete in SL in a year or so's time?
As far as I can work out when it comes to filling the on-field criteria you're fighting it out with Barrow, Halifax & Batley (a team that has won the same amount as you in the past two seasons!) Yes you have the stadium in place but licensing is much, much more than that. How come you have the biggest/richest backer in the National Leagues and yet you're struggling to compete?
Instead of blaming everybody else you lot should star by asking questions of your own club.'"
300K cap split between 3 sides ( youth set up) comapared to others on one team, 36 players used this season due to injury, doing things above board to keep RFL happy and give no excuses... hope that helped  |

Yes after 1973 reshuffle, but geographically the North cheshire natural border in the River Mersey, anything south of that Cheshire, north would have been Lancashire, I bet a lot of proper Cheshire people don't refer to Widnes as in Cheshire, but it is useful to get county funding of central government. |

Don't forget the fact that their team has been filled with players on loan from Super League clubs for the last 2 years as well |

Mate you hit the nail on the head, and the teams above us have played no youth like us and have bought experienced players.If was not for a small salary cap and no youth set up, we would be higher up in the league.The league is very close and the top team Featherstone only beat us by a point,and was close at their place.Salford fans do not understand and i am sure they be happy with 4 yrs in the Championship.Scousers what numptys as i do not speak scouse.I live down south and they think i am a Manc.  We got to the Northern Rail final again unlike Fax,Barrow,Fev so we can not be that bad.Not many teams have had the injury crisis like Widnes and i wish Salford fans congratulate Batley than bringinging Widnes up.It is getting boring now and our 6000 fans where rocking at blackpool.  |

southerners are clueless anyway, north of Watford is manc, plus Salford have had a couple of seasons of a very bad injury crisis, it is just the press don't bother reporting it, recently against Warrington we were missing 7 first teamers to their 3 and the press was about Warrington's injury problems, they had 4 internationals on the bench, we had kids. Your penultimate sentence doesn't make a bit of sense.  |

You'll always find that's the way they report it if the favourites aint running away with it... RL media not the best for giving credit where it's due for some sides like in that instance!
We hammered Barrow in the NRC when they were favourites (1/4 final) yet Bill Arthur banged on about Barrow's injuries and how well they were doing... yup despite the fact Widnes had numerous more out and had only just got 2/3 back into the side! |
