A merged side, in the Wakefield district, would just be in the same position. As already alluded to, a lot of fans would not support it and therefore revenues would still be down.

A Dragons-Cronulla merger would have been far more logical, The St George-Cronulla Dragons, could have sold off the Sharkies swamp land and played out of an upgraded Oki. It's not like the NRL would have been losing anything getting rid of the Sharks or that 99% of the Shire would have cared!

I wouldnt support a merged side because it would have nothing to do with me, i'm a cas fan, i support castleford, supporting castleford to me means more than supporting any other team. If there was a merger i would just support lock lane like many, others would support panthers, or normy or fryston or whoever your local ametuer side is.
