| Ratchford came in with a shoulder charge, which is a penalty. Therefore the decision should have been a penalty try with a kick under the posts but the vidio ref bottled it and just gave a try. Wigan then miss the conversion so are disadvantaged.

| Quote nottinghamtiger="nottinghamtiger"I'd get rid of it completely.
I can accept an on field referee getting a decision wrong.
It's embarrassing when a video referees makes stupid decisions that fly in the face of the evidence in front of them. Unfortunately, it is happening regularly and has been since the VR was introduced.
However, more importantly I think the VR takes detracts from the experience of watching the game. I can't celebrate when my team scores a try for fear it's going to be sent to the VR and ruled out. Likewise, when the opposition score I'm hoping that we are going to 'get out of jail' and the VR will find something to rule it out.
I much prefer the experience of watching games with no VR to interfere.'"
Completely agree but then you'd get sky replaying incidents over and over and when the ref makes the wrong call he'll be castigated for it

| Quote SmokeyTA="SmokeyTA"That is the stupidest thing, we seem to have gotten to a position where the decision doesnt need to be wrong, it needs to be egregiously wrong so video referees are sending down decisions knowing them to be wrong but somehow 'not wrong enough'
It must surely be the end to this referee try/no try nonsense that anyone with a brain could see was nonsense to start with, sadly its taken a wrong decision deciding the LLS.
Phil Clarke justifying it last night because 'he wants refs to make a decision' is the most idiotic justification of them all. The ref isnt making the decision, if he was he wouldnt refer it to the VR'"
I'm pretty sure the LLS hasn't yet been decided

FB's are doing this regularly and nothing is done. It's also time they got to grips with players throwing themselves on the floor trying to milk a penalty at the PTB. Even footballers get booked for blatant dives

I cringed at the amount of play-acting and milking in the Cronulla vs Penrith game this morning. Embarrassing. Even the ref mentioned it at one point.
Similarly, Warrington (and others, granted) seem to have perfected the art of lurching 3 or 4 steps forward into the markers to leave them not square. It's a great tactic when you have a runner like Clarke but for me it's moving off the mark and should be penalised.

This is what SKY like to do, they love the replay and creating a drama, the slow motion replay's distorts incidents out of proportion at times. But SKY want more, more not less. The commentary is aligned to the process as well and I'm sure some of the players are savvy to it with over zealous appeals, whilst the supporters just want to get on with the game.

I agree, that really annoys me along with moving off the mark.

| Quote Cronus="Cronus"Despite the bold claims, it was never 'clearly' on the line.
One image looked marginally iffy. But remember, when an image blurs the edges of objects expand, therefore that very blurred image can never be deemed conclusive when you're talking millimetres. No other images show him touching the line even paused at the same moment.
The on-field ref gave 'try' and there was never enough to overturn. That's the point.'"
Exactly this. Two out of three angles appeared to show space between his hand and the whitewash; one appeared to show his finger just brushing the line. That was never going to be enough to overturn the on-field decision. In fairness it might even have got BOD under the old system - full speed it looked a try.

Apart from the 2002 NFP Grand final and league cup final, but i knew you had just momentarily forgotten
