| I hope that Platt gets fed up with not getting chosen and asks to be released from his current contract. Platt will never be good enough to be a quality full back.

That's my thinking. If he gets no gametime whatsoever (He won't play reserves due to Hyde's form) he may seek a release.

| think platts a handy player to have in squad as he can cover a few positions as a utility player. he has been quite a bit better this year apart from a couple of high profile gaffs. unfortunately he seems to have turned into a scapegoat for large sections of our support so I suspect we'll end up moving him on, assuming someone is prepared to come in for him.

I don't agree. Platt looks at his best when playing full back. To get the best from him he needs to be playing at the back, unfortunately for him Halley looks the better FB so far. I don't think he offers much in terms of a utility player for us.

Same here, he's caught out of position way to many times, his defence is weak and he can't catch a high ball whilst under pressure. Centre and Wing, even if it's just doing a utility job should be out of the question. FB or nowhere for Platty, fortunatley for us, and unfortunatley for him Dave is proving that he's the better of the two in that position.

Quite clearly, the cooling pwer of a mega-fan is infinitely superior to that of a mere 'ordinary fan'.
... and its quite warm in Oxfordshire this evening.

| It said in the Australian media that Cronulla full back Brett Kearney has signed a massive deal to join a super league club. Now I don't want to put a dampener on this brilliant news, but I hope we are not signing him and then letting Dave take Semi's position on the left wing. I can't see it, but it's just something there what's making me a little nervous.
I'd prefer us to head into the new season with Dave starting on at fullback and retaining Semi on the left.

And Halley himself, who seems to feel that he has earnt this deal through improved performance and attitude since the kick up the Iestyn/Ben.

This has gotta be a bit of hype. If ifit he's a a good player but not a marque one or even excerional, but he's crocked with a lomg term ankle injury and can't see him getting a "massive deal" in SL. fom anyone.
I doubt, err.. let me rephrase that..hope to hell. that the Bulls would not be in the running
Lets see the equation:
Average Aussie + boat losds of money - crocked ankle -taking Halleys positiom at full back - loosing Semii = whats the advavantage ?
