| Quote mat="mat"wouldnt go as far as saying roystons just a utility back. he's a specialist fullback who can cover backs. in same way lulia is a specialist Centre who can cover wing and 2nd row. these are type of player we need. Specialist on one position but able to cover a couple of others as well.
pleased with way we're signing younger players rather than big names at tail end of their careers. real sense of us building a team rather than buying instant results.'"
I am going by the Bulls website, which describes Royston as a utility back, not FB, but have to agree with you that if he were signed as a specialist then FB should be the position. Likewise Lulia has been signed as a centre not as a utility player, though may be asked to play wing on occasion. Potters first squad defo a work in progress, and, like a jigsaw puzzle, when you get some of the later pieces, you see how earlier ones fit better, eg there will be less pressure on Ainscoughs defence with Lulia around, he can work to his strengths which is scoring tries. But most important now we know who it is, is a win against Hull.

| seems like a good signing in the right position. Hopefully the communication lines are still open with pryce as this would solve the hb position and leave a quota spot. If this happened, we could look either another centre (would still be v good to get another here imo) or a prop. I suspect that a hb is most likely and would be best if we dont get pryce but i feel weve addressed out biggest weakness so far.

Royston is a specialist thats where he made his name, he covered at FB last year due to Faxs injuries at that position.

| Well he's the right age, big strong. Sounds like he's got a good attitude and plays in a position we need. Very pleased with this signing.

| He is a Wollongong junior and played his first game of firstgrade for Saint George.
Signed by Brian Smith to the Knights as a 21 year old.
His strengths are his defence and his fend - good at both because he has very good upper body strength.
He is an outstanding defender in the NRL, which should make him unpassable in the ESL.
Weakness is mostly that he isn't particularly quick and tends to drop the ball a bit.
He has only played a few games for the Cook Islands, but his brother, who has the unlikely name of Lulia Lulia, has been a regular for the Cook Islands for years. Lulia Lulia is a very good NSW cup player, and played outside Keith in the Pacific Cup in PNG - which was a commentator's nightmare.
He has never forced his way into the top 17 at the Knights, but thanks to Adam McDougall only playing 10 games a year, he has had around 50 games of firstgrade I think - a few at Saints and the rest at the Knights.
Very competent centre, especially in defence - not much of a winger - too slow.

| hape wasnt particulary quick, but he was quick in thought and could beat a man and release winger.

| I've heard of him and seen him quite a few times.
He is ok, nothing special, but should go decent in SL.

When hull (who i presume you support) have 0 overseas players on thier list then you can complain. We probably have less overseas than most. We're also bringing some talented youngster through. Hull have rbought in Houghton and erm....erm... THATS IT!!
So well done Hull
