| I just hope Potter doesn't get all sort of abuse for this. We are in transition and had to lose a cup game eventually.
Bear in mind thats given us a week off, we looked shagged at the end.

| Quote rafsanjhani="rafsanjhani"i said it at the wigan game and ill say it today when have saints EVER lacked invention or composure 10 meters out? .Today exemplifys how much we miss long, wilkins invisible, wellens running through on 5th tackle players out of position, flat as a pancake .Potter inherited a good side and hes detracted albeit ANDERSONS ALWAYS GONNA BE A HARD ACT TO FOLLOW,but for me the missing x factor is potter he just doesnt have the ability to bring anything new .ok cant lay it all on pansy but for me he is certainly the major factor in saints listless lack lustre attack new coach for me potter cant bring anything to the table sorry to potter loyalists but thats my pennys worth'"
I think having players swap round week in week out due to injurys hasn't helped potter to be honest.
Today with longy out and roby and kc not fit we was always going to lack direction.
Eastmond and pryce look like only 2 players that can beat a man and make a break which is pretty poor but saying all that we boast best attack in super league.
The is defo things that ain't been rite all year like all the drop ball, poor passing and our last tackle play.

| fading side coached by a muppett.
Potter's tactics are even more one dimensional than DA.
Our attacking play, especially near the libe is clueless(as it was gainst Wigan).Every team in the league has a better kicking game than us-just look at what Hudds did to us today.
Major surgery needed and now.Summed up by their last try when Wellens looked like he was running in quicksand he was that slow to cover.
There will be no silverware this season that's for sure.

| If Saints were ever going to be stopped on the way to a final it was today, if this game had been in the old slot a the start of the season then the Saints would have their name on it again already
But today, after a long season, injuries to key players and a Giants team in brilliant form, well if we couldnt do it today, its a poor do.

| You need a prop? .. We need at least 3
But seriously, I very much doubt its end of an era for you as its been said. Today wasnt your day, simple as that really. It happens.
Full credit to Huddersfield.

| I would imagine that you will get beat again next week as well.It could also open the door for Hull Kingston Rovers to finish third.

I agree with some of what your saying but saints have been heading this way slowly over last few years. IMO I think we would have been nearly same team under DA.
We got a lot of kids playing at mo which IMO ain't I deal.
I've said for long time that fresh blood should be brought in every year to keep things fresh. I don't mean 4 or 5 every year but defo 1 or 2.
I think we paying price for not bringing in a centre.
We don't have strike players and don't have pace.
I've stook up for Gardner year after year but I can't anymore. He brings nothing to the team at all. He has no pace at all!!!

| I went to the game today as a neutral and was surprised with your overall effort. Things never came off and players heads went down. Thudds upset Cunningham, Graham and Eastmond and it began to show in their performance.
You will still win the grand final though.

| Major bit of knee jerking.
Certainly not as bad as the the last time we lost to HULL in a semi.
We really weren't that far away today. That's probably what makes in more frustrating.
We will continue to struggle as teams are far more reliant on a kicks to score tries and gain yards. Gardner this year has looked far less composed than previous years, wello is returning slower and covers less of the pitch and meli is an enigma under a high ball.
The wrestle in the tackle also prevents our quick roll on in attack , but I would be amazed if we dont see some relaxation of this next season.
Our second phase aint clicking at the moment, but the last few games are showing definate signs that as an individual Kyle will be a more than adequate replacement for longy.
His pace from standing still already adds a different edge to our attack.
The surprise for me was that Huddersfield had more desire and more guile in attack.
Given that the cup is the major source of income in the game missing out this year could hit us in recruitment.
Mr. Mcmanus may have to dip into his pocket this year..
Yes We have a great crop of youngsters coming through.
Soliola & Moore (who was a bit anonymous for me today) for next year.
But we need to get 1 prop minimum and possibly a replacement for gilly.

| I can't believe most of the crap on this thread.
If we'd have had two fit props today plus Jammer it would have been different going up the middle, our half back and stand off would then have had a decent platform to play off.
We got over the line 3 times and had the try disallowed due to fantastic hudds defence. It was just one of those days.
Eastmond will have learnt a lot today and Moore looks like he'll do a great job for us next season.
Let fans of other clubs herald our demise like they've done over the last decade. Some posters on here need to take it on the chin and move on.
