| Gutted by this news! Gutted for jp! My first thought if I'm honest is that our season is fooked! But I know this team finds a way to win whoever is missing!
Come on rhinos!

| Hammer blow.
But let's get one ting straight. Adversity brings the best out of the current leeds team.
We can still win the double without him.

My thoughts exactly. We have just lost our best forward, and whilst I know that it is a 17 man game, loosing such an inspirational leader means we are going to struggle in this Cup Final. If any guy deserved to grace the pitch at Wembley it's JP, and I am gutted for him.
6 to 8 months out is a long time for a prop of Jamie's age, and even if the reconstructive surgery is 100 percent successful, given the hammer his body has taken during his career, it is a massive ask to expect JP to get back up to his current standard.
The only positive I can see is the superb team spirit in the squad. Will that be enough to carry the remaining squad through the Cup Final and on to Old Trafford?
Gawd knows.

Why what has the fat tw*t been saying.
It is very heatening to hear the Wire fans singing JP`s praise and wishing him all the very best. True fans are like that. Then you get the scum like Gledhill. Even without knowing what he has said is getting me mad. Hopefully I will bump into him one day

| Gutted for him - he deserves a game at Wembley and also another cup final.
England will miss him in the four nations too.

| Providing we dont get any more devestating news like this, my team for wembley would be:
Webb
Smith
Delaney
Senior
Hall
Mcguire
Burrow
Kylie
Buderus
Bailey
JJB
Clarkson
Sir Kevin
Diskin
Ablett
Lauititi
Ambler
That wont be the team Bluey picks but it would my team.

| Real hammer blow for the team.....but particularly for the man himself: it does sound as though even when recovered he might struggle to be the same mighty cornerstone of the pack again. It's that old enemy, age, which will diminish his impact. One of the all time Leeds' greats (and I've seen a few since 1977). Again a real pity for the guy. He really deserved his place at Wembley. Incentive enough to get him there again next year maybe for his one last chance.
Ambler can fill his boots in the (short to) medium term - he looks the part with the few opportunities he's had....in the [u[ivery[/i[/u short term we need Bailey to step up. Hope he can do it.

| I said on this forum a week ago that Peacock and Sinfield should be rested for Wembley - and what happens ?
He'd earned the right to sit it out until Wembley so that Sod's Law wouldn't get to him. Now for God's sake Bluey, rest Kevin Sinfield again this weekend !
I'm absolutely gutted for Jamie because without him we wouldn't have got past Wigan and he typically climbed off his sick bed to play in that game.
Without his second effort in the dying seconds of that game, Wigan wouldn't have made the error that enabled Smith to score the winning try from the scrum.
Sport can be so unfair but its up to the rest of the team to win it for him. That will be no easy task, now, with forwards going down like skittles.

He also laid the match winner on a plate for McGuire in the semi.
