| Ok, I will retract and apologise for the stupid remark.
I do think you were being disingenuous though because you seemed to be implying Diskin has been along for the ride in a great team when he's been a key part of it and shone brighter than anyone else in the 2004 team.
Clearly Buderus has been a better player than Diskin in their careers. But it seems to me the team react better to Diskin and can read his play better. Nor do I think that Buderus has shown enough of that greatness with us. He never looks head and shoulders above Diskin and that fact that so many have such polarised opinions speaks for itself. If Buderus, at Leeds, was so much better than Diskin we'd all be cooing over him and Diskin wouldn't get a look in at the 17.
I simply think that given his salary, given that he takes up a quota space and given the cover we have in his position Buederus is not a player I would sign on for next year.

In 2004? Thats ok then, 6 years on and hes gone backwards faster than a French conscript.

I would say approximately 80% better.

Really, not from what I have seen, add to that Diskins now woeful lateral movement due to have that well know lead legs syndrome and I fail to see what you are basing that assumption on.

He shouldn't be but the Coach is spineless.

Not disingenuous, I was one of the first ones to shake my head at Buderus signing, did not mean Diskin was along for the ride, no team can achieve what Leeds have without a very good hooker, the role is to pivotel these days. If I had a choice my heart would say Buderus, given age, salary etc keep Diskin & use Buderus wages on a half back to keep us on the front foot. (i expect to be shot down in flames for this suggestion shortly )

| Quote mps="mps"Has Diskin? Not defending Buderus, he has been under par, came injured, then got another nasty injury, like I said i've seen better hookers in blue & amber win jack, better competition, worse team mates etc, Diskins come along in a golden era.
Buderus has not performed to his best, I also think he's a bit quick for some of those around him. Wonder if Diskin would be at his best between having a torn bicep & a broken leg in the space of a year?'"
So we bought an injured player?
Way to go!
Leave the excuses out of it Danny.

Firstly, I would agree that following his knee injury, Diskin lost half a yard of pace and a little mobility. To say he went backwards to the extent you are suggesting is, quite frankly, horse t.
I have always rated Buderus from his days at Newcastle and, having had the pleasure of watching him play first hand, I would have to agree that he was a world class player. Little things that he did on Sunday would suggest to me that he still has an enormous talent and that he may well replicate his NRL form, given time to settle. Even disregarding current form, his distrubution skills are without doubt superior to Diskin's. However, to suggest that Diskin is less than two thirds as good a player, now or ever, is another pile of horse t.
Diskin has never possessed the overall skills demonstrated by Buderus in previous years but, he has been an international and, in my opinion, should have been given other opportunities at that level. In short, he may be the weaker of the two but, it isn't by much.
There are more facets to a hooker's game than passing the ball off the floor and making the odd scoot from dummy half. For a start off, your team is not going to have the ball for at least 30% of the time in a game in which your team is vastly superior. If anyone was being disingenuous earlier in the thread, you definitely fall into the alternative category.
Finally, what the F@@@ do you mean be lateral movement? I have seen enough crabs wearing blue n amber thank you!

I remember a story years ago when half the first team contracted them, the depleated team was also put down to an injury crisis, started by a bird in the richmond or somewhere, shame current injury crisis can't be overcome by a dose of anti-biotics.
