| As a wire fan this is bitter sweet. I am glad on a playing level he won't be playing against us, but on the other hand I am really gutted for him, have nothing but admiration for the man.
What exactly has he done?

| Sad news, we wouldnt be in the final without him
I was surprised he played against Cas, he was playing injured in the semi and should not have played injured again
Makes the Challenge Cup, Grand Final and Four nations even more difficult

| I was struggling to see where burgess may have fitted into the Wembley line up but such a shame for jp in what may have been his last chance.
Clarkson was another who may have missed out if lauititi & eastwood picked but I too can see him starting now & much deserved if he does

| Sadly, it's just the way it goes and there's no point in using injuries as an excuse.
Injuries are part and parcel of the season and other clubs will go through this too hopefully.

| Quote Keith Swiftcorn="Keith Swiftcorn"Injuries are part and parcel of the season and other clubs will go through this too hopefully.'"
They are but that is still a classless remark.
__________
Shades of Jeff Grayshon at Leeds 1986. Hopefully Peacock will get another opportunity but that's a body blow for the player and the team for now.
Leeds will just have to get on with it.

| Massive blow for JP and Leeds, though always possible when a front-row forward is asked to put in as much hard work for so many years that it'll fall apart somewhere with a long lay-off.
Vital that Eastwood or Lauititi step up and go towards filling the gap for the rest of the season, not as props necessarily but as big metre-making defence-draining forwards rather than impact substitutes.

| I think of our stand-in options at prop, Kirke is probably the man with the tools to do a job up front in the big matches. He's never been known to let anyone down, and while he's not a specialist prop he can certainly biff the ball up the middle as well as most. Ambler will also no doubt get some gamer time, and I think next weeks match is massive for him, assuming he plays, to have the game of his life and make his claim for a Wembley place.
Losing 2 grand final winning props in a week is bad news, and hardly ideal build up, but injuries are part and parcel of the game, and others will now have to step up.
It is personally obviously devastating for the lads involved. Burgess I'm sure will have more chances to play in big finals. I hope JP will too.
Anyone else think that after last year's showing Sinfield is the natural choice to skipper England this year?

| If ever a player deserved a Wembley cup final, it's Peacock.

| kirke looks a very big strong lad with plenty of pace, interesting how he'll do
Sinfield for england captain? Not sure, doesn't seem the same player at 13 for england although as you rigtly point out was excellent at 9, whether he should captain at 9 i don't know.
moz must be favourite, getting on but still has global respect.

| Just when we were all coming to terms with Burgess' horific injury, then along comes this bombshell
Totally gutted for JP as he's missing out on his dream of playing at Wembley, when players reach the back end of their careers you never know if he'll get another chance to play there
He will be sadly missed as he's a main "go forward" player, and is a leader of men.
JP is also that calibre of player that has the ability and sheer will to win at all costs to be able to pull off that vital game winning play as seen in our CC wins against Wigan and Saints in earlier rounds
But cometh the hour, cometh the man.....Someone will now have to stand up and seize their chances, Im sure they will too
The War cry from here on in is "lets do it for JP and Biff"
