And we play them for what? We play them for qualifying positions i the playoffs, just like the NFL.



There's the word "leagues". It's no distraction to teams preparing to win their respective "competitions" because doing that requires hitting form in the playoffs and games played in February have little impact upon that.

I'd personally scrap the meaningless LLS because it detracts frmo te "be all and end all" SL championship.

If it saves us from the relentless gloating we had last year after they thrashed us by two points, I would tend to agree. Can't imagine the smug barstwards could be as bad this year though (what am I thinking

of course they can).



Still, having less than half a brain I'd prefer to see us win the WCC, although I'm struggling to see how the two are mutually exclusive. That "less than half a brain " I guess.

Each to there own but I think you are probably in an overall minority among leeds fans there. We still have 25 more matches to try and win the league after the Wigan game, there are no second chances in the WCC. Granted we wont get any credit for winning it until its played in australia the week after the Grand Finals when its a true reflection of the 2 GF winning sides.



The WCC is the biggest club match ever to be played at Headingley and although I want Leeds to win every game they play i would always prioritise the bigger games.

I do. Leeds were rightly crowned Champions in 2011 but did so without recording a win V Wigan over the course of the season and that remains a regret, just as it would have been without the wins V Warrington and St Helens in the Play-Offs.







Could happen to any player in any game they play or in any training session they take part in. As I said earlier if he's properly injured he shouldn't play but if he isn't he should.







The next game after Wigan isn't Widnes it's the WCC and Leeds should be using any advantage they can find in preparation for that more important encounter. How many fans don't want to see 'World Club Champions' and for a third time after their team's name, something Bradford and Wigan fans already enjoy. Having a settled side with match practise under it's belt could be crucial. That won't be aided by chopping, changing and resting players in the game that precedes it.







I'm not interested in giving anyone a good game, I'm more interested in taking the points on offer. Why make an already difficult task even harder?

If not beating Wigan means winning the grand final I would take that every time. Got to look at the bigger picture

Resting players for a perceived greater prize can always backfire of course. Didn't Webb miss a GF for a back injury received in a domestic accident ?



Rest Sinfield, lose the two points at Wigan and he could conceivably yet then miss the WCC because of a similar unfortunate incident or training mishap.

If only you had half a brain like me

Winning the WCC brings a massive amount of kudos to the club and could well attract more long term fans. A lot of the younger generation are swayed by cups and titles and the tag "World champions" would have the little fellas wetting their underwear and asking Daddy to take them to see the World Champs every week. It's happened at Football clubs for years, kids in Man Utd shirts, Chelsea and Arsenal right across the country, all on the back of success and titles. I personally have spoken to lads in the last week born outside Leeds that support their hometown football teams (man city and sheff weds) but are now massive rhinos fans as well. Winning the WCC can only enhance our already burgeoning profile no end. The Manly game is absolutely massive as far as I'm concerned.

I'm with tvoc on this one. We go there to win, and approach it no differently to any other game. If they're fit they play, if they're not they don't.

For me the prestige of the trophies is like this GF > CC > WCC > LL.



Therefore if there were to be any priority calls I would say the WCC take priority, plus we also have 25 more games to win the LL even if we do hold something back at Wigan.



However, I would see teh Wigan game as a perfect warm up for the Manly game. Despite their poor end to 2011, they are still a top team, and will provide a good test. However, win lose or draw, we'll be better prepared by having a good scrap with them rather than sending a weakened team over
