As i'm the dessy-driver for son No.2 & two of the other lads from the Halifax U20's England students squad first training session at Trent Uni in Nottingham tomorrow i'll miss playing in the Greetland All-Rounders U30's vs over 30's invitational game which is a big shame after what i've watched this season, I fancied knocking one or two of them on their a$$es with a bit of the old "drop of the shoulder & slip the ball out of the tackle" which was my stock trade

of years gone by, especially gonna miss putting some late footwork & see ya laters to one of our fellow messageboard posters ( Greetland8 all the pies ) after studying his flat footed defence all season, hands-on-hips & blowing out of the ar$e a familiar stance, I sort of had my plan in place for tomorrows big clash. Have a good blow out lads, you'll have to wait another year to see me in the black & whites again







Anyone got any local RL goss ? I hear the Elland v Ovvy derby was a bit spicy last week as expected.

Double header at Greetland today. First up Greetland 2nds v King Cross Park 2nds. An excellent game , KCP mainly fielded a team of 18/19 year olds and equiting themselves very well came out winners.

Next on Greetland v KCP, again a very entertaining encounter, a few biffs here and there and some excellent rugby, Park came out winners and with the talent coming through the ranks the future looks bright.

One thing stood out in both games, good forwards need good halfbacks to feed the centres and wingers, if that plan is in place then Rugby is a very simple game.

A good crowd on a fine afternoon and some nice chat with friends and foe.

Looking very much forward to my winters local rugby.

Terrible news about Mark Seal's ( brother of Danny ) injury that he suffered during the game, full & safe recovery are his priorities now & best wishes from me. How the hell he managed to walk off the pitch, get showered, then have a drink in the bar after the 2nds game ( according to his mrs's update on FB ) is a testament to his courage there's no doubt about that !!!!

Greetland V Littleborough this saturday will be a decent game, both tough games last season, each winning one at home, both teams have started well this season.

It's been a little bit quiet on here lately so i thought i'd bump it up.



I'm rather surprised the disgraceful situation that Calderdale's leading amateur club Siddal have found themselves in since last saturday hasn't been highlighted or discussed on this forum.

Good luck to all of the lads & coaching team for sticking together and their club for supporting them fully in this matter. It sounds like bad sour grapes from some of their opponents' officials even though it appears from the statements their players had accepted the rules at the end of 80 mins & shook hands at the end of the added time with the Siddal lads.



I sometimes wonder why we bother with this great game of ours when the governing bodies within the sport quite obviously bend the rules to suit. Bad sportsmanship springs to mind. I don't blame the Siddal lads & their club for withdrawing, in fact i applaud their decision.



Typical of the RFL & their schedule/planning with their simultaneous tv clash with the RU internationals today & for the next few weeks. I reckon our world cup games will get slightly less media coverage somehow.

Totally agree with Siddals decision to withdraw, hope Lock Lane win today for the sake of the sport.



Its a very messy situation which could have some serious implications for the game. Has a precedent been set here to challenge results due to refs errors? How many times have games been decided by crucial questionable decisions. A lot of the issues come back to the sports administrators with their constant tinkering of rules. How many other sports have different rules for different levels of the sport?



Could be some interesting developments over the coming weeks.
